Make your mind up
DrMarazanvose24 February 2021
Last week this show was all serious about racial issues, yet this week it is ok to con a woman into giving up a kidney by lying about its source.

If you are going to touch on subjects about ethics, morality, humanity etc. at least be consistent in your approach.

As far as I am concerned I can let it slide in terms of an entertainment show but really doesn't resonate with how serious they were trying to be last week.

Well a lot better than the cringeworthy mess last week.

Other than the fact that Dr Lim keeps whining and pulling the female minority card, and Lea acted like a baby when Shaun just brought her a sandwich it was a pretty good episode. A lot better than the hot garbage last episode.

It's ok..

.. if you're able to get through the IT girl whining about sexism.. she's a girl so according to her, every man underestimate her tech skills... so I guess no skinny nerd male has been underestimated too... it's something exclusive to women... Anyway, sometimes it's difficult to digest the feminist bs throughout the whole show, may it be the half asian chief who's always playing the minority and female card.. or doctor brown being extremely angry at men for whatever reason but never displaying the similar outrage towards women.

The best episode of Season 4
theava-7031023 February 2021
Without any doubt #Deceypt is the best episode for so many different s reasons. The scrip in charge of Thomas Moran and Adam Scott Weissman got love, action, emotion and all the fans of The Good Doctor we love to see. Conforms that Freddie High more as director is impecable. All the cast did a wonderful job and the two guests stars invited, Caley Versfelt and Kurt Jaeger were fantastic. My recommendation, sit down and enjoy it.

Missing cast member

Why isn't Summer Brown - "Dr Olivia Jackson" listed in the cast? She's pretty significant in this episode. And for the...mysoginist?..reviewer who said that "Lea" was "whining" about...sexism. This show, and many current shows, deal with current social issues. This show, and "Lea", did an okay job of it. Got a problem with that? Seems like it.

Freddie Highmore.. English Man In USA
yusufpiskin23 February 2021
Freddie Highmore ... All DVD / Blu-ray works are part of my collection. He did great things at a young age. He has worked with great directors and great actors / actresses. The acting talent is already registered. Now it shows for the second time what a good director he is. The producer side is also strong. I'm impatiently waiting for "Leonardo".

Pure Awesome!
topayhs23 February 2021
In my opinion, the best episode of Season 4 so far! Plenty of character drama, mixed in with intriguing patient cases (in one case, a patient chain!). All while the hospital computers were under attack. It was bittersweet to see one recurring character go, but the way it was done was beautifully executed! And some touching Lea-Glassman moments were very well-received! Excellently written, directed (by star Freddie Highmore), AND acted by all! I really loved seeing Paige Spara shine as Lea, and continue to believe she's highly underrated!

Why do shows like this do tech so poorly
jdore-223991 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Overall, I like the show, but it feels all over the place.

This episode was just too stupid silly.

The tech plot in this episode is ridiculous. There is so much more than just the fact that the hospitals systems are down and data is inaccessible.

An IT Director of a major hospital isn't a high level security engineer / penetration tester likely capably of the complexities of reverse engendering malware encrypted files. They are primarily a department head and leader dealing with day to day logistics of tech along side a CIO, CTO, etc. etc.

Where is the IT team? Network Admin... Security Admin... anyone.. Why is Lea in the serer room? Because it looks cool??? She doesn't even look like she has patched into any equipment on that laptop. That room would be rather loud in real life.

I'm going to skip over dozens of other stupid things, but Lea should lose her job period. She appears to be the highest ranking IT employee for the hospital and Malware breached the hospital network for months unnoticed. There would have to be so much data forensics done to discover what PHI could have been breached.

Getting off the tech rant. So the writers thought that it would be a good idea to have a former Chief of Surgery and President of the Hospital disregard patient confidentiality. He completely disregards HIPAA and discloses PHI to the press. Wow. That is actually worse than what the guy he exposed did.

Lame.

S4.E10 - Decent Episode [8/10]
panagiotis199320 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
(S4. E10) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 4 Episode 10 ''Decrypt''. The previous episode was awful and I gave it a rating of 3/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. The hospital is attacked by hackers? That's interesting. This man lied about having cancer in the past? Why? It seems like Lea is pretty good at her job and she was able to fix the problem they had. One of the new residents got fired? Damn, that's some good news, I hate all the new residents, they are annoying and boring as hell. Dr. Andrews was the one who exposed that guy? I didn't see that coming. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 8/10.

Unfinished
lois-padawer3 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Like a couple of other reviewers here, I was shocked at the casual and quick acceptance by three doctors of a lie to an organ donor in order to get an organ (despite the likability and need of one of the organ recipients). I thought that it was likely that this plot line was supposed to tie in with another, that of the supposed cancer victim whose deception led to publicity and much fund-raising for his charity. I thought perhaps the writers meant to examine how much bending of the truth was ethical in order to achieve some good. However, the comparison was never made. Most of the characters were horrified at the fake cancer victim, but the lie to the organ donor was barely dealt with. Very strange.

However, I'm not that familiar with the characters, having only seen several of the shows this season only. Did anyone think of Madison Cawthorn while watching this episode?

So wrong
angel-9159525 February 2021
And I'm not speaking of the tech issue, as I have no experience with that. I am an RN, and if I worked at this hospital and knew what happened in this episode I'd quit immediately. The president of the hospital threw HIPAA out the window, then allowed doctors in his hospital to be blamed and fired for it. Patient privacy is drilled into every employee's brain from orientation on. And the doctor who lied to a patient to convince her to undergo a surgery that was not medically necessary (for her), and the other doctors praised her for it? Absolutely ridiculous. I've been watching this show since the first episode, and really enjoyed it, but several recent episodes have been very disappointing, and this one just convinced me that I'm done.

Everything related to the cyberattack is very wrong.
pdelteil27 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
How did the writer made all this up? They didn't have budget to pay for an expert's consultation?

First, Lea doesn't have a cybersecurity background. She was a software developer and she likes/fixes cars. And from one day to the other she's a Ransomware expert? I'm mean to do what she did in the time she did it, she's a fu***ken genius, 10 years of experience working on the field at least. But not only that, she's also a Network expert, how many years she's been in the hospital, 10 years? BUT NOT ONLY THAT, she's also a computer forensic DIE HARD. She fixed the hard drive by herself, with no previous experience, for that job a company would charge 10,000 dollars to fix it in one day. In my country (Chile) there are 2 companies that provide this type of service, 2 in the entire country! . But, probably they thought: 'well, she fixes cars, maybe she can fix a hard drive' But that type of equipment cannot be found in a hospital! (hey boss, let's expend 10,000 dollars to fix our servers hard drive (the failure was also stupid AF) is easy to do it, any developer or car mechanic can do it!) But not only that! She works alone! This awesome hospital only has 1 IT manager/network wiz, developer, computer forensic expert, ransomware expert. But when she was hospitalized she looked more like a ticket manager (probably looking into spreadsheets) .

It' so disappointing, they could have ask on StackOverFlow or even Reddit (/Defcon for instance) for some advice on the history line.

I'm sick of this show's moral standpoint!
ilonaorange17 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Lying to a kind and generous woman to get her risk her life to donate her organ to a criminal is ABSOLUTELY WRONG! And the fact that the whole team even feel good about themselves after telling this lie is even more disgusting!

How can they persuade themselves that they're doing good things? Are they all a bunch of sociopaths? Don't you guys have moral standards? Especially when each and everyone in the show tends to see themselves as a saint! You people are so corrupted that you even believe that you're right and morally superior!

This show is so messed up that it keeps feeding us with this kind of crap!
