The Real Story: Indiana Jones (2009)
*** (out of 4)
The Real Story is an interesting series that takes a look at popular Hollywood movies and then discusses the real events that led to them.
In this episode we take a look at Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones character and the people who influenced the film. Roy Chapman Andrews was a brilliant explorer who ended up having several action movies based around his adventures. This were the movies that Spielberg and George Lucas watched as children so this documentary tracks Chapman Andrews and some of the connections he has to the Indiana Jones movies (including being scared of snakes). Other explorers who might have influenced the film are also discussed. If you're a fan of Indiana Jones then you'll obviously be entertained by this episode as the actual stories are quite good as are the events that eventually found their way into the movies. The episode is certainly well-directed and remains entertaining throughout its running time.
