Shown three years after the Three Mile Island accident and four years before Chernobyl.

The China Syndrome is probably an obvious influence for this type of series.

Paul Brack (Donald Sumpter) is a nuclear scientist who believes that the Wintersham nuclear power station he works in lacks effective safety protocols.

A journalist snooping around wants information if the power station can withstand a big earthquake. Soon an earthquake does hit which causes chaos and concern.

Made in 1982, The Brack Report has a modern sheen with pictures of a power station, computers and plenty of blinking lights.

However all the scientific talk of nuclear fission makes it very dry. They even throw in some Karl Popper's philosophy. I have not heard of him since college.

The real life Chernobyl incident showed the full horror of a nuclear accident. Edge of Darkness made in 1985 shows how such as thriller should be done.

The first episode had wonderful acting from Sumpter but it was too dry.
