During the foot chase, the suspect is wearing a padded sleeve for the dog to grab safely.
The white numbers on the trunk lids of LAPD cars represent the area of assignment; for example, 1 is for Central, 2 is for Rampart, 3 is for Southwest, etc. The radio calls patrol units get also use the same numeric indicator. For example, 1A11 would be a two-officer patrol car assigned Central Area, 3L50 would be a single supervisor car assigned Southwest Area. The trunk lid numbers on Southland vehicles are marked 21 but the officers are using area 6 as their radio code. 6 represents Hollywood Area and there should be a white 6 or 06 on the trunk lid. The number on the roof represents nothing but the last three numbers of the vehicle number. However, the changes may be deliberate, as the characters uncharacteristically shift from one area of assignment to another in order to depict events in different areas of the city using the same characters.
