Moretta and Bryant kick Gang Leader Reggie's butt, Salinger's night from hell
blizobrien13 June 2015
Moretta and Bryant investigate a suspect held to a wheelchair and looking innocent, but is dirty Gang Leader Reggie. Main plot centers around Det. Salinger trying to keep things silent about an affair with a sketchy girl in a nice suit named Mia. Salinger is trying maintain his self-respect while he has a domestic conflict riding on him. The tension of cops like Bryant and Moretta doing their jobs and Adams on a possible sex offender is complicated by the politics and dumb stuff that Salinger wishes never happened.

This a great look at the other guys besides Cooper (Cudlitz) and Sherman (McKenzie). Lot of fun and very tense.

One man's utter misfortune
Mr-Fusion17 January 2017
If the prior episode was about spotlighting one end of the LAPD (the detectives), 'Two Gangs' holds its focus primarily on one character while still giving the other players just enough material to keep from stagnating. Regina King, Tom Everett Scott, Michael Cudlitz and Ben McKenzie all have something to do, and they fit well into this kind of show. I think the characters are handled well, for the most part.

But it's a bad day for Sal (Michael McGrady), run off the road by gangbangers and finding his gun missing. You feel for the guy because his bacon really is on the line and he didn't do anything to deserve it. Between his integrity as a cop and the dedication of the men under his command, we get a clearer picture of this guy than ever before.

Solid writing all around.
