Morecambe girl Harriet, a 28 year old sports journalist, is first off the mark, but can she turn a profit on a flat she has purchased in her home town? A couple in their 50s, Pamela and Gordon from Norfolk left it too late to get a mortgage. They up sticks and head north with their caravan after buying their property in Fishburn in Stockton-on-Tees, breaking all of George's "cardinal rules of developing" - not researching the area, not viewing the house and failing to get a survey for the house. The last two teams to buy finally find properties. Crawley based Zoe is using on-line auctions to buy her property and settles on a £74,000 house in Chesterfield, 200 miles from home. Londoners Amit and Aman are two months into the competition and are still no closer to their first purchase, but finally buy a £77,000 property in Nottingham. However, their project could be in danger of falling apart because Aman has taken a job in Dubai, leaving Amit on his own to finish the refurb.

Welsh brothers Ricky and Andrew adopt a 'spend more to make more' strategy in their next choice of property in Llanelli whilst Janet and Olivia stay in Fleetwood to create a showy home on a shoestring budget. Meanwhile, Zoe still hasn't sold her first property and currently lies bottom of the table with zero profit. She finally sells, but has she run out of time to flip a second home, a requirement of meeting the competition rules?
