Somewhat Entertaining
atlasmb22 December 2022
This quiz show has three contestants vying for money by answering questions on various subjects. Each episode features questions in six specific categories. They are aided by six celebrities.

On the plus side, contestants can win a substantial amount of money. Also, some viewers will enjoy the banter with the celebrities.

The show is hosted by British comedian Michael McIntyre, who has an ever-jovial temperament.

However, the show has a slow pace. Whereas each episode of "Jeopardy!" includes sixty-one questions in a variety of categories, an episode of "The Wheel" might involve only nine questions. Another feature that some viewers might not enjoy is that a contestant can win by capitalizing on the hard work done by other contestants.

This is a show with some entertainment value, but hard-core trivia fans will probably find it plodding and simple.

lights flash, the set spins - and we don't care who wins

Reminds me of the episode of Friends ... ... ... The episode when Joey was going to be the host of a non-sensical game show. The fictional game made little sense, but at least the Friends episode was entertaining.

"the Wheel" is simply a very bad show... ... ... with a bad host ... ... ... a bad premise... ... .... and mostly D list "celebrities" who must be looking for a paycheck, any paycheck... ... ... a random spin result means the best and brightest contestant can be taken out. R the worst contestant remaining - but do we ever know how the wheel is spun? Why it lands where is does? OR why we should even care?

Fundamentally flawed gameplay
rmmil23 December 2022
Sometimes the game play in modern gameshows could be deemed slow or boring, but rarely is the gameplay itself fundamentally flawed and unfair to its contestants at a basic level.

"The Wheel" is a rare game show that is flawed at its very basic level of gameplay. No matter what, as a contestant on a game show you should be given the opportunity to play, at least once participate in some way. However, in "The Wheel" there's the opportunity to never play at all. The 3 contestants under the stage are selected randomly each time they lose, meaning someone could get a question wrong and be knocked out of play, yet then gets to come right back again. That sounds potentially interesting, yet causes what must be incredibly frustrating situations for the players who, by random chance, never get to play a single time.

Also, every game is edited to take up the entire runtime of a single hour, so it becomes really anticlimactic when a player gets to the last question but there's still 20 minutes left in the game. Obviously they must get it wrong.

Once again on game shows of this type, the "celebrity" panel consists of a selection of washed up yesteryear people. I swear the same ones must be on some sort of celebrity game show circuit, they are always the same people as those who appear on shows like "The Masked Singer."

This game needs to tighten up its editing considerably, add double or triple the number of questions, and add a game mechanic that stops people from endlessly getting another turn before others get to play a single time.

Ultimately though, as it stands this was very boring, and probably will get cancelled.

...I just wish one time he said something, anything different. "Poo, Coke, Pee, what's it gonna beeee?"

Worst Host I have ever seen
ljlagrave27 December 2022
Concept of the show is really interesting, but the host is obnoxiously loud and contrived. 6 celebs are each experts, and 3 contestants are spun on a wheel located beneath the celebs. The short spin determines the contestant who will answer questions, using a celebrity to help them. The helpful celeb is chosen by another spin, but the spinning of the wheel is loud, long, and made obnoxious by the constant screaming and prancing gyrations by the host.

The multiple choice questions are interesting and doable, and the final question options for winning build some excitement.

Improvements needed: 1. Change the host or reel him in. Stop talking over each other.

2. Dial down the overly loud background music so that we can hear the people who are speaking.

3. Shorten the spin for the celebrity choice prio to the question. Nothing but screaming and people making faces.

This show is a 3, but it could be a 7 with some revisions.

The game is good but the host is awful

I would watch this game show as it's a good game but a few changes need to be made... 1. The host NEEDS to go. He is annoying, loud, screams, and is just unwatchable.

2. Each contestant needs to have their chance to compete. When the same contestant plays several times and gets questions wrong then plays again and again, it's simply idiotic.

3. Each contestant should have to answer at least two questions. When just one question is answered, it may be pure luck and no knowledge.obviously, luck has a definite value but some knowledge can eliminate some answers.

This premise is good and could be a great show but needs a few tweaks for that to happen.
