Looks nice, shame about the script

Warning: Spoilers
GODFORSAKEN is an indie fantasy thriller with a classy look and some very nice scene-setting photography. A range of real-world locations are used to tell the story and they're good to look at. A shame, then, that said story is so drawn out, really testing the patience although the premise isn't too bad. It's a religious-themed movie in which a fallen angel goes looking for redemption after failing a child in his care. The cast work hard to tell the story, but it's the script that lets this one down despite the aforementioned qualities.

Truly original and unexpected and somewhat disturbing

Warning: Spoilers
A woman visits a priests and ask about a fallen angel that arrive to Earth several years ago. From that the movie becomes a flash back of a series of events related with the outcast angel and the people whose life he interferes and / or try to protect. To make things clear; this is NOT a sweet family or Christian movie. It is very dark and disturbing. The angel has his own agenda and little respect for human life (at least for most of the characters); he is quite violent.

This is a low budget independent movie with few characters. The acting is acceptable but not outstanding. The pace is usually slow but the unexpected twist near the end feels a little rushed.

Even with some tricks; to justify the ending; the movie works and will surprise you. After the end many strange feelings stay and will keep you thinking for a while.
