Anyone whos saying ignore the manga fanboys is wrong
uzair-3686712 March 2021
I havent even read the manga. I watched the anime first and was blown away by how good the first season was. This season has been a complete letdown and so much of the runtime has been nonsensical and pointless.

When i realised that they literally cut out the 2 arcs worth of storylines and characters it all started to make sense, and existing moments were cheapened too.

Episodes 1 and 8 are the only properly entertaining episodes but the story itself has been completely ruined by plotholes and streamlined plot/characters, especially when you realise how much better it was in the manga.

If you are calling people manga fanboys because theyre not content watching one of the most intruiging stories be butchered into a hollow mess then you dont really care about the quality of the anime anyways.

Decent episode but I am scared for the future
thefoochie12 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Yikes... I didn't expect the kids to go save phil and the others next episode! Things are happening too fast, and I am scared that they are going to ruin the ending. How is the story gonna be resolved in only two episodes, writers?

Pros of the episode:
  • it showed Norman and his friends to be more two dimensional. Instead of wanting to kill all of the demons no matter what, they now want to help them.

  • The dialogue between Norman and Emma in the first scene was great.

  • The cliffhanger was intriguing.

Cons:
  • way too fast paced

  • Isabella finally showed up? She should have shown up in episode 5! It's been so long since we saw her that I forgot what her plan was. They should have definitely shown her earlier.

  • Again, this is more of the season as a whole, but how the hell are they going to end it in TWO EPISODES

All in all, it was a decent episode, but it was way too fast paced.

Show,don't tell.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode took the glimmer of hope that last week's episode had given me away. Before I begin my review, know that I am an anime-only watcher of TPN and do not know or care if certain plotlines from the manga were altered or abandoned if the material on offer was good.

To begin, Norman's hit squad, the band of people who have only had one characteristic on display for the show and it was their hatred for the demons and they just let their boss, Norman tell them to not kill the very beings they hate and STOP?! Did the writers not write the meltdown that Barbara had few episodes prior on even the possibility of Emma changing Norman's mind about not killing the demons and she just goes yeah,I wanna kill 'em but I care about you more which raises another issue that I have with the show this season. I would be willing for this hit squad to not pursue revenge out of their love and admiration for Norman had they actually shown us this development. All we know is that they escape, Norman becomes boss and now suddenly they are willing to let their revenge drive go cause they care about their boss so much? SHOW US THAT DEVELOPMENT. Do not expect me to think they care about each other without having them share the screen for not more than 5 minutes this season.

Then comes Grandpa Demon (Aka Nylk,I think) who pulls the USB out of his ass that so conveniently solves every problem that the kids were facing at this point. Ichigo and Goku's ass pulls weren't as random as this. Need a drug that can help your disease? Got it. Need a layout of everything? Got it. A layout that was supposedly mapped out 15 years ago but is still relevant today.

By the episode's end,I couldn't care less about Vincent's betrayal as I do not understand his motivation. Maybe he hates Norman for not letting them kill the demons but then goes onto make a deal with them? So much potential, all gone.

Don't listen to the manga fan boys
ballettate12 March 2021
This is an anime series... Not the manga. If you want to relive the source material go read the manga. This was a good episode and I refuse to let the manga super fans dilute my opinions of this episode or any others.

Huge letdown
luisbacao12 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After an incredible season 1 of outsmarting their way out of tricky situations, season 2 just keeps on disappointing with huge plot holes and way too convenient coincidences. On this episode we get a glimpse of one of the demon's backstory, this demon is very old and had been saved by the cursed blood 700 years ago, a little too convenient but acceptable. Later on we find out that this demon, 15 years ago, found a near death human out of nowhere (coincidence), who for some reason had a piece of tech that fits the same pen that the Human Children have in their possession(coincidence). This one piece of tech apparently has info about the one place that they can use to get out of this world (coincidence) as well as the cure to the side effects of the drug that was used on the humans that are dyeing(coincidence). None of the humans seems to be bothered by the fact that this tech device is from 15 ago ago and the info can be outdated or the fact that there is a cure for a drug that was tested 15 years later. Like WHAT? Basically all their troubles can be solved by random factors and dumb luck which is not the reason that I fell in love with this show in season 1.

The entirety of season 2 seems like bad parody of what season 1 was. Imagine Game of Thrones after they had no books to follow, everything is badly written and poorly explained.

Of course they did! Why should I think they can stick with a plot for more than 2 episodes! I hate my life.
