I wasn't expecting this episode to go this way, and I don't know if that's a good thing

Warning: Spoilers
It doesn't feel right to me, they being "together", I mean. I loved all the episodes that came before, because they were so raw and real. I can understand them fighting all the time, because, well... they are not good for each other. It's a toxic, consuming, obsessive relationship. And that's why it was so believable, so relatable, but this last episode just felt wrong to me. Maybe because I was NOT rooting for them, or maybe that's exactly what they wanted us to feel. Weird? Uncomfortable? Some people might've felt happy? I don't know.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. After the ending of the fourth episode, I expected nuclear bombs, not touchy feelings. The hot sex I totally get it, it does make sense for these characters.

It was a very disfuncional "happy ending" tho, and that also makes sense. They are neither together nor apart. They are just dragging more innocent people into their mess. These characters are so great BECAUSE they are so complex. I hate them, but I also understand them. They are just human, that's why this show is so relatable.

I missed the beginning when they show the actors getting into character but I figured it would end like that, and it did as it should. The actors deserve every praise they are getting and I hope they get awards for this. Especially Jessica, I think this is the best part of her career to date.

Amazing show overall, loved every minute of it.

The ending is SO moving!

Just a quick feedback after first watching: the ending is very moving. I like the way this series ends, with shooting officially cut but the camera still rolling, captuing the interactions between the couple, on screen and off screen. The episodes tell so much about the scenes of the particular marriage concerned, and it is indeed that every relationship tells its own story and those in it embrace each other in their own ways.

It's a compelling ending...

As in I'm compelled to hate both the characters. Superb acting by Jessica and Oscar.

Fantastic ending

The serial got better from episode to episode to a brilliant ending. It's bigger than him and her. It's not about who's right and who's wrong. It's about the marriage institution than is sold to us as the place where love flouris. While in reality marriage in most cases kills love. Fantastic creation by brilliant Israeli team and 2 Emmy worthy supreme actors. Kol Ha Kavod. Bravo!

Perfect, mature ending

Warning: Spoilers
That chaotic couple finally grew older and wiser in the final installment. And while it isn't the powerhouse that episodes 2-4 were, it's even better than the premiere because of the evolution they had: even broken and separated they managed to make peace with themselves. No more fear, no more yelling. No more prolonguing a relationship. Just living it. Brilliant!

Sitting on the edge of the chair

Warning: Spoilers
In all their dialogue, in this wonderful final episode of the miniseries, there is the feeling that the fragile and delicate balance that Mira and Jonathan have established in their long and very complicated relationship could break, and another violent fight would follow. A misplaced word could break what they had found and lost and found again, but this does not really happen, and you sit in awe of the characters being able to speak so directly without ever really hurting each other - and the fact that this comes off as believable.

Somehow Mira and Jonathan, in their dialogues, monologues and gestures manage to stay respectful and truthful to each other, and so we regain as viewers some faith in humanity and our ability to feel true love, albeit in this case a deranged and complicated love.

In this episode, all bluffs are called, and all illusions have somehow vanished.

This is also the only episode where we venture out of the house, which is as much the star of the show as the couple themselves, but seeing Mira and Jonathan engaging with others in their respective universes is refreshing and somehow sets the tone for what is to follow.

... no-debate

... through much of the first four episodes there's a back-thought maybe she might not have been the best casting choice... then came episode five... no doubt she was-is the-only-choice.

When it ended I thought "That's it?"
kurtmax20 November 2021
Yes, well acted and written series. Unfortunately for me the end experience was of investing 5 hours to connect with these interesting and complicated characters only to find that by the end they were both very unlikeable in my opinion. So their fates became rather "So what? I don't actually like either of them now anyway." just my impression. I have to assume that was the end result the show was going for. So I give credit for that.
