I was quite informed while watching "Independent Lens: February One: The Story of the Greensboro Four"
This was another program that I DVR'ed years ago that I just now got to watching. This was a documentary of the four African-American North Carolina students from A & T college in 1960 that decided to sit in at a Woolworth lunch counter in Greensboro waiting to be served. Three of the surviving ones-Franklin McCain, Joe McNeil, Ezell Blair Jr.-talk of their experiences while also talking about the late fourth one-David Richmond. While they do, actual news footage is mixed with home movie-quality color reenactment clips. Quite compelling especially when telling what happened to Richmond and the reunion of the other three at their alma mater when statues of them were unveiled. So on that note, I highly recommend February One: The Story of the Greensboro Four. By the way, the version I saw was on "Independent Lens" with Susan Sarandon as host.
