Soulful!
samantsanika14 August 2022
I'll start with the music. The theme is so calming. It makes you want to stop and listen. As I said earlier, it is soulful!

This is the first time I watching something with Zhang Hans but I'm a fan now. His subtle nuances make you smile and his spontaneous boyfriend behavior simply makes you fall in love. His portrayal of Tang Mingxuan is, to put it simply, awe inspiring.

This is the second time I watched Xu Lu. Love Scenery was a show that introduced me not only to her but also chinese drama in general. Fell in love with her then and still am. . . Even more so!

Moving on to the plot. . . Despite being slow paced, it holds a lot of meaning. Even if some might consider it a drag at certain instances, one would not be obliged to drop the show. This is not only a very heartwarming love story about a mature couple but it also introduces you to the multiple facets of chinese fashion. I'm a fan!!! I learned a lot. THE VISUALS!!!

And one thing I love about this show is that despite there being several cliches that are characteristic of the romance genre, it doesn't feel fictional at any point of time. It's very real. There is an innate sense of understanding there. There are times when the facial expressions say it all. There are several endearing side characters too!

And, the best part is that there are no loose ends. Everything seems to come together for everyone in a way. Highly recommend it! I can't believe that I had this waiting on my 'to-watch' list for months.

Addictive! Beautiful love story!

Worth binge watching! Beautiful couple!

This drama has a beautiful gradual romantic development between 2 people- the leading casts Mo Fei & Ming Yuan. Both are good looking especially the leading actress, she is not only pretty, sweet smile & portrays her role very well!

Her attire& style is really good. Simple, pretty & elegant!

Overall she is the most beautiful actress in so many Chinese drama I've seen!

The Chinese clothing especially the choinerie are so beautiful! The sceneries are breathtaking! Just by watching the designs, feel like ordering those Mo Fei wears!

Like other Asian drama, there's always 1 or cunning, sly foxes!

It's so cliche that I fast-forward those scenes as one would know what will happen - the lies, deceit & backstabbing. Nothing good will comes of it so its a waste of time watching those scenes.

Another unrequited love that will not lead anywhere as love can't be forced. Such capable woman has so low-esteem. If he wants & love, he will be with you.

There's Xue Ling with frown face throughout the show, it gives depression just by watching her role. Just by look & character, anybody would choose Mo Fei over her.

Another Xioman, her role is just makes you want to crawl out of your skin alive! Exaggerated! Thinking that you are beautiful only gets you to some extend which is no where.

Thankfully Mo Fei has some people that loves her & care for her, Ming Yuan little cousin, the bestfriend Duo duo, room mate Mai Jing, the design director Fang, the younger brother, Duo Duo boyfriend, Mo Fei mom who is understanding. Even Ming Yuan dad doesn't pressure the son!

Another is Jia Xi, she is a backstabber! Envy is a sin! She can't succeed so she is jealous of Mo Fei of her own inability.

Lastly, Ming Xuan mom she is despicable! Thinking that she is above others! Selling her own kid!

Overall love the clothing, the history of Chinese designs which are fascinating, the love between Mo Fei & Ming Yuan, they have beautiful chemistry together, some scenes are so endearing, sweet even & the kissing is so swoonworthy but basically the rest I started to fast forward after 20th episodes as it's too draggy. Especially when cones to Xue Ling & Xio Man scenes too boring!

All in all highly recommended!

Enjoyable series
Dillydaydream26 June 2022
Having watched and enjoyed Boss and Me I looked for other series with Zhang Hans in and came across this on Viki.

At the start Tang Mingxuan is portrayed as a rather lonely character immersed in his work but not very happy. His early scenes when Mo Fe ( Xu Lu) burst into his life were very well done and set up the future romance beautifully.

I thought Xu Lu was terrific and she and Zhang Hans made a convincing couple as well as both being really attractive.

The supporting cast also did a good job - I particularly liked Ruizi Wang. Some of her scenes with Xu Lu, when they got in real slanging matches, were great to watch!

Yao Hong as Fang Xiaoyu did a good portrayal of someone in torment whilst acting as a bit of a playboy.

Li Xin Zhe is also to be commended for his role as Mingxuan's long suffering PA!

Unlike in Boss and Me the boss here did have parents- one of whom was a really bossy and interfering mother.

All in all a throughly enjoyable series.

Nice heartwarming romance with a slice of high fashion life
leahcubed2 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
10/10 is my rating. This is a 2021 Chinese romantic drama with 45, 45 minute episodes.

First I provide a synopsis then review

Synosis

Infatuation at first sight occurs when workaholic Ming Xuan (Hans Zhang)encounters talented design student Mo Fei (Xu Lu) At the design fair they both attend Ming Xuan overhears the feisty girl passionately telling her friend how the designs featured in the show could be improved. Like Cinderella dropping a shoe, Moi Fei drops a notebook in which she sketched many of the designs from the show, along with improvements and some of her own thoughts and designs. Ming Xuan finds the notebook and is slow to return it as he finds the girl, and her concepts fascinating. Ming Xuan's family company, Yuan Fashion Group, has a traditional line they are trying to reimagine and globalize. Mo Fei's designs often incorporate her passion for traditional embroidery which is an aspect that fits well with Ming Xuan's concept for the future of the traditional fashion line of his business. With so much in common, the two quickly become a growing part of each other's lives. But there is a top designer with a grudge against Ming Xuan, his former childhood friend, Fang Xiao Yu (Hing Yao) who also finds the beautiful young designer interesting both professionally and romantically. The stage is fully set for romance except Mo Fei wants to continue her studies in Europe and Ming Xuan is convinced bachelorhood is the best way to keep his aspirations for his business in focus. Not willing to alter their goals separation is inevitable and Mo Fei heads to Paris while Ming Xuan remains in China. This separation could have been the end to a budding romance until fate steps in and Ming Xuan has the opportunity to launch a European fashion line which intersects with Mo Fei in terms of a joint business opportunity.

Review

This was recommended by someone when I said I like happy endings and female leads that are not whiney. She recommended four Chinese drama series and this is the third one I have watched and the recommendations were perfect.

If you like love stories where the leads fall in love and stick with each other through everything this is one of the few where there isn't a huge break up. The slice of life in the Chinese and French fashion industries is really compelling. All of the characters were well developed. There were so many likable characters and the villains we're motivated by jealousy and narcissism which made them suitable love to hate characters. The central love story follows a predictable pattern but there is enough intrigue around it that it makes it an enjoyable watch from start to finish. I would rewatch it and highly recommend it for those that like slice of life, heart warming love stories and strong female leads.

#TheSunshineofMyLife #ZhangHan #XuLu #HongYao #WangRuiZi.

A hot mess
ENIGMA059 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is the first drama that I have dropped and so far along in the series. I just couldn't do it; it was a total disappointment because I like Zhang Han and loved his performance in "Boss & Me" with ZLY. He typecast himself into this CEO role and this storyline was just unrealistic and impossible to deal with. I'm not sure the director and screenwriter were sober when filming. Literally every single cliche and trope of a stereotypical Asian drama got hit. Love triangle that turned into a pentagon eventually, toxicity towards the FL from every side imaginable, a stalker SML, jealousy, unrealistic expectations. Just no! The only reason it is even getting a 5 instead of something lower is for the very few sweet moments of the leads, the few decent characters like ML's assistant, and their overall acting. Absolutely nothing could save this mess for me. And it's very sad. Many people like these roller coaster shows, but if you're going to call yourself a modern drama, it's got to be realistic. None of this was. I wish them all luck in their careers and better roles. Do NOT recommend.
