Great songs, weak plot
staybeautiful-7270616 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The storyline is weak and cheesy, although we expect cheesy in DCOMs. Zed is the only monster who is exceptional enough to get into college and pave the way for all other monsters? What about Eliza? She's off working for some tech company and obviously very smart. (But I get that was probably to hide the fact that the actress was pregnant in real life lol) Addison's mom has let her walk around for her whole life feeling like an outcast and ashamed of her hair, and she knew she was part alien the entire time. Let's also not forget that her mom, knowing she's part alien herself, wasn't super accepting of zombies in the beginning. But whatever. We expected the alien "twist" because it's been foreshadowed for a while. It just could've been a stronger story in supporting that plot point.

The songs were the best part, by far. The Alien Invasion song, Exceptional Zed, and Ain't No Doubt About It were my standout favorites. Also liked the wolves' song, Come On Out. I liked the choreography for most of those numbers too, especially given to Milo Manheim since his time on DWTS.

The "woke" stuff is pretty under the radar, and that's coming from a pretty conservative person. I don't think my kids would key into any of it, but they're all pretty young still. If you're worried about it, watch the movie before you show your kids and decide for yourself. And then just show them the song clips online, if they really want to see any part of it.

third

Werewolves, humans, and zombies live peacefully in the town of Seabrook. Zed (Milo Manheim) is desperate to get a football scholarship into Mountain College and join Addison (Meg Donnelly). It would be a breakthrough for zombie kind and suddenly, aliens arrive.

In the previous movie, I asked if they're bringing in vampires. Don't worry. It's aliens. It's ridiculous but that's this franchise. It's go big or go home. It's a lot of nonsense surrounding a central core message of inclusive togetherness. I basically checked out with the arrival of the aliens. Playing it again, I do like the aliens and their fish-out-of-water humor. This franchise is probably not going any further than this. If it does, I'm putting down a bet on vampires, vegetarian vampires.

Zombies and aliens
MB-reviewer18515 July 2022
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 3 (2022) is the final movie in the series, and I thought it was a good ending. From the IMDB trivia it turns out this is the biggest budgeted Disney original movie, when watching it I could tell how much they put into it.

Milo Manheim and Meg Donnely as Zed and Addison are both still good, and the rest of the cast are good. The relationship between Zed and Addison makes these 3 movies enjoyable.

The effects and the alien ship looked good, and the aliens had simple but unique designs. The special effects they use for the aliens using their powers or gadgets looks cool, and it makes sense for the aliens to not know many things on earth.

The songs are once again catchy and fun to listen to, and the dance choreography is good. I like how they expanded the town of Seabrook because it looks bigger in this movie.

Z-O-M-B-I-E-S (2018), Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2 (2018), and Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 3 (2022) are enjoyable movies, and I can see people liking them. Also, they are good for kids to watch because they have good messages for them to learn.

Needs better jokes

This is the type of film that works well if it's actually full of laughs. The bad writing makes this bland and boring. The plot in these B movies is irrelevant...if it's really funny.

Warning: Spoilers
(SPOILERS)

The first Zombies was fairly good! I keep in mind of course that it is a children's movie and it teaching about diversity and acceptance with monsters and humans is very creative.

HOWEVER with the latest installation on this series, my respect for it had insanely dropped.

My largest beef is the script.

Addison constantly mentioned after she discovered she was an alien, that she finally was not alone anymore; that she knew who she was.

She has a loving family, friends at school (she is literally popular), and a boyfriend. She is not alone as everyone has done so much for her and enjoys her company. It gave her character a very self-centered light that just doesn't fit.

It teaches kids to not be appreciative of the love you are given.

As for the "finally knowing who i am" bs.

That statement completely contradicts the entire overarching message of the zombies franchise. You are not defined by your species or race, you are defined by how you act.

To put it in simpler terms; What you are does not define who you are.

That statement obviously did not bode well with me.

Imagine the kids seeing this and mimicking that behavior.

Also the acting was not great; especially the mothership. I mean every quote he had terrified the potatoes out of my throat. It was also very annoying love the actor, though

so overall, it may seem that zombies had taken the scriptwriters brains.

Major letdown
brookenichole-9805416 July 2022
Just watch the first twenty minutes because Alien Invasion is the best musical sequence in the entire movie. Zombies 3 is just an awful movie with a terrible plot and boring songs.

Not the ending of the trilogy we wanted
jayd2_57419 July 2022
My daughter loves Zombies 1&2, she even loves this poor effort. The songs don't compare to the first two movies, maybe except Exceptional Zed, that was catchy. The storyline was poor, yes, the first two wasn't Oscar winning storylines, but they dropped the ball here. And the movie with the biggest budget, the costumes seemed so cheap, did the budget go to actor fees. So disappointed with the end of this trilogy!!!!

awful dissapointment
lpoggi19 July 2022
I really enjoyed with my daughters zombies 1 & 2, songs, choreography and even plot was great, and they had great expectation for this #3, to the point of watching in on the opening day on Disney+.

But... Everything that made 1 & 2 good disappeared here, all the song are bad, all the costumes are so cheap, there is no choreography significant as it was with BAM or We own the night or Flesh & Bones or... the point is that they are not even close to the first two, if it were not the same actors i would have said that this is a bad copy as those remakes that use to be made in turkey or India back in the 80s (no disrespect, but those copies were bad & cheap... just like this zombies 3 is).

And it is not just my opinion, my two daughters (aged 10 & 12) has the same feeling about this movie. So disappointing. Stay away if you want to remember zombies like a good series of films.

Loved every second of it
amandasnarfles-4119616 July 2022
People downvoting due to it being 'woke' clearly never understood the message of this franchise in the first place.

This was a perfect 3rd installment. There was nothing "predictable" about the ending, it had been foreshadowed in the previous movie. It was so cute, and flowed well.

The songs are so catchy, and the Aliens are hilarious. We burst out laughing several times. My sister (34) and myself (41) are not the target audience for this franchise, or any DCOM (Disney channel orignal movie), but we love them. The cast were fantastic, including the newcomers.

Mom's thoughts
sweetcakesmomma16 August 2022
I loved the first one.

The second one is my favorite.

The third one... left me wishing I was watching the second one again instead. It was ok,I really enjoy watching these movies with my daughter but It just seemed very predictable.(maybe a few to many songs, they were kinda corny) I am looking forward to a 4th one though.

Bring it on !

Boring and not needed
theprogs18 July 2022
The first two seasons were great, but the third one was like they just produced it as a name not an actual zombies work. It seems that they haven't put so much efforts on it because it carries a new idea that may not be accepted by some parents for their children. However, some moments were enjoyable, but the movie is overall boring even for children, and was not really needed. Even the dances and songs were like they hadn't gotten enough training. Wish to see some worthy Disney's works in the future.

BEST DISNEY ORIGINAL MOVIE IN A LONG TIME.
kklolong15 July 2022
Zombies 3 surpassed my expectations. This third installment is everything you want in a Disney Original Movie! As a parent myself, I can honestly say this movie teaches very important life lessons, whilst still keeping it fun and light. Would highly recommend to parents who want to have a movie night with their kids tonight!

Pretty good ending to the trilogy but not entirely original
JJSM2216 July 2022
I wasn't much of a fan of the songs this time around, one or two were okay but the rest were nothing memorable. The effects are great and improved, most likely because it was released on Disney+ with a bigger budget. I loved the inclusion of a non-binary character even if they didn't really explore the topic. I also enjoyed seeing the new cast and their humerous portrayal of alien life. It was satisfying to see Addison finally get an explanation to why she has always felt like she didn't "belong".

Cheap and disappointing
projectkate16 July 2022
Listen, I really enjoyed the first Zombies movie and I even liked the second one, however this movie was very disappointing. There were no good songs they were all boring and made me want to fast forward, in fact I did fast forward a song because of how lame it was. In the first movie my favorite parts WERE the songs. The dancing in Z3 was also very badly choreographed. I expected much better considering the amazing dance numbers in zombies 2. And don't get me started on the plot of the story, this could have been a great movie but they completely rushed through everything. Their costumes and makeup looked very fake as well, the "aliens" looked like normal people just wearing blue clothes and wearing cheap blue wigs. The movie itself just looked very cheap. They should have stopped at the second movie. Oh and of course Disney had to make the movie with a very "woke" agenda 😑

Terrible writing very dissapointed
nansne5 August 2022
If it wasn't for the couple songs and past actors I would've given this movie a 1. The idea of aliens was fine but this movie is stupid from start to finish.. Its like someone threw together a movie to hurry and get it over with.and choice of actors for aliens wasn't good either. We looked forward to it and was very disappointed!

Bad acting.
jayleenpacheco16 July 2022
I liked the first two movies but the acting on the third movie is terrible. The new added characters are trying way too hard to be like aliens in my opinion. Recommend the first 2 definitely not the third. Wasted my time.

Zombies 3 Rating (This is my POV. don't be offended if you don't agree.)
helenagurara16 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Zombies 3 was quite the "exceptional" movie if i do say so myself. This movie has gorgeous graphics with the aliens, mother board, tech, etc! So why am i giving it an 7/10? Well let me tell you why.

Summary of the movie (SPOILERS AHEAD) Zombies 3's main focus was for 1) Zed to get into Mountain College with Addison so they could have a well future together. And 2) The aliens could find the most important artifact (that contained the coordinates of Utopia) in Seabrook in order to find Utopia. On this event, some unknown visitors (the aliens) beam down causing for all of Seabrook the reek havoc upon itself while the interviewer for Mountain College is just about to interview Zed.

My opinion I think there was a well balance between the Mountain College plot and the Alien's plot. Zed was a nervous wreck (Exceptional Zed) trying to pick himself up before his big interview and the Alien's trying to see if the Moonstone (Come on out) was the important artifact. Both had incredible songs (which both are in my top 3) and kudos to the whoever made the choreography for Exceptional Zed, it was quite well done.

Soundtrack The soundtrack could've done better, it's the last movie of this franchise i get it. But the last two movies had songs you could never forget and knew the lyrics too even if you didn't watch the movies. But this movie only around 3 rememberable songs and the rest is just bad in my opinion. The 3 songs in question are Alien Invasion, Come on out, Exceptional Zed. This is due to the fact that these 3 songs actually bring something to storyline, you can tell what each characters thinking/feeling even within the lyrics.

In Alien Invasion, everyone is deathly afraid of the mothership causing havoc amongst the town which causes them to become defensive towards the aliens.

In Come on out, the wolf pack is upset with the aliens for "lying" to them and are trying to find them and deal with them their own way without Addison's generosity.

In Exceptional Zed, Zed is nervous for is big interview because whether he gets in or not depends on the future for zombies and wolves. Causing him to stress out.

Graphics I actually don't have a lot to say but just wow. The Graphics are very beautiful, the way the portray the lighting, mothership, etc is just so wonderful.

Balance on each Species I feel like the wolves were the most underrated in the movies. The last movie, it was practically all about them but now they are hardly getting any representation. I understand they had one song, but what did the wolves (besides willia, wyatt and wynter) do for the plot? The zombies were also pretty underrated, Last movie they were super noticeable with being in the plot and songs, but now it's mostly just Bonzo, Eliza and Zed. Humans was a decent balance, they weren't too out of it but i feel like they could've deserved more screentime. Like Bucky for instant? They just called him president then called it quits for his character. Addison definitely had a lot of screentime and helped out with the plot but i'm pretty sure it's only because she's the main character (no offense at all!) And then Aliens, Too. Much. SCREENTIME!! Look, i understand the aliens were the major plot twist of the movie but what they were trying to accomplish was way too overlooked. Why couldn't they have just been more discreet about winning the cup instead of making it into 50+ clips of them talking about a plan? Cant they read minds? That's what confuses me the most.

Ending (SPOILERS UP AHEAD!) The ending actually made me cry, when Zed and Addison have to say goodbye to eachother because Addison was the "important artifact" and was needed to find Utopia. Oh. My. God. This scene actually make me sob so hard, well done to all the actors who played in that scene. Knowing all that the two characters have been through makes this goodbye scene even harder for me to watch. And just like that the two kiss. Poof, goodbye zed, goodbye earth. AND THE CAST SINGS A REMAKE OF SOMEDAY?? I SOBBED SO HARD.

WELLLLLL we are forgetting the fact that the alien's end up realizing that they can just live on earth on not move galaxies away. I hated this part only because why couldn't they have just realized that before getting aboard? Making the Zeddsion scene so hard for what?

Anyways, Addison and the Aliens come back to earth. Addison and Zed, relived to see eachother share a hug while Addison is glad to be back to earth and not having to leave the ones she loves.

Then come sing songy time (Nothing but love) leaving the characters all happy to be. Finally no more doubts or worries and all species come to seabrook freely thanks to Addison and Zed.

Final Review This Franchise has been with me since i was a child and seeing the third and final movie come out breaks my heart. I honestly want more of it, but people get bored of stuff eventually. I'm happy Zed and Addison finally got their happy ending, Wyatt told Eliza her feelings and Ali-a and Willia going to the dance together melts my heart (Lgtbq Representation) Overall, this was a great franchise and i'm glad i could share my thoughts with you guys on the last movie. If you haven't seen the last two movies, i definitely recommend watching them! But if not, definitely rewatching them lol but anyways this was my review on zombies 3

this is val, signing off !

Absolutely loved the first two movies, great stories and music. This installment was extremely lazy, terrible music, terrible flowing story, bad acting, and poorly filmed. Such a disappointment of a film. Bad job disney. Ruined the series.

Zombies franchise is the best Disney Original Movie!! Zombies 3 killed it!!
natalie-8211121 August 2022
My family & I really enjoy Zombies 3!! The soundtrack is amazing! The songs are super catchy. The kids & I know all the songs by heart & always listen to them. All the actors in the movie are good too they did a great job, the chemistry between Zed & Addison is really great a lot better than Troy & Gabriela's relationship... The Zombies franchise is a lot better than High School Musical that's including the songs. I'm hoping *fingers crossed* that they make a Zombies 4 but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. Love the dances in the movie too the choreography was super good I'll say the best compare to the other 2 movies so great job Disney! You did well with the Zombies franchise hopefully it'll continue on!

Not a bad film from the zombie franchise
lisafordeay18 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Zombies 3 is the 2nd sequel to Zombies 2. Addison (Meg Donnelly) and Zed(Milo Manheim) are set to graduate from Seabrook High School. However Extra Terrestials land on Earth and befriend Addison resulting in Addison to finally find out what she really is. So is she a zombie, werewolf, vampire or an alien?.

Overall I enjoyed this film. Sure its silly and the songs are forgettable but I enjoyed it.

Rupaul voices the ship that the aliens land in.

BREAKING NEWS DISNEY DOESNT KNOW HOW TO MOVIE
nikkebaby16 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is boring and even though its a normal films length it takes forever! Its cliche boring and predictable! The plot twist where she was an alien was so dumb I rolled my eyes til the saw my brain and I predicted she was an alien since the first film! If your film series is that predictable just quit. 4/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Reading these reviews is honestly so disappointing. I just don't understand what you were expecting... the only thing I think would have been cool to see would be Addison maybe being a mermaid. They went with alien and I think they did a good job with this third installment based off the other two and what was left to cover in the third. Any movie that my 15 and 13 year old stay up until midnight to watch with their mom is a 10 for me! I'm also shocked about the comments on the songs because I genuinely love every minute of the dances and songs in all 3 movies! I feel it's an underrated franchise as far as cheesy Disney musicals go. I enjoy it much more than descendants- I think because the actors in zombies have amazing chemistry.

The songs are bops as always, but something is missing. It feels like all the writing went into the songs and not the script. Just disappointed as me and my kids LOVED 1&2. We will just listen to the soundtrack instead.

Somewhat enjoyable, great songs but kinda stupid story
ChanithaWeerasinghe23 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Zombies 3 is disappointingly not very good. As it got moved to Disney+, I actually looked forward to seeing a nice musical film with a good budget. Well, they've improved the directing, CGI and done a great job with Alien costumes. But the acting is still dull in some scenes and the story is dumb. It is similarly the same story from the second film with few differences. I feel like the story isn't very meaningful, like there's no point in telling it. There are even some plot holes and I feel that they could've done better with the story.

The only good thing in this film are the great songs and dance moves but oh my god, background music in intense scenes are so awful. They are like those stupid horrible dramatic music played in meaningless Indian melodramas. It's so annoying to hear such music in a Disney movie. The portrayal of Aliens as in not knowing about emotions, feelings and to operate a pencil sharpener was hilarious but still, I think they could've done better without making the film fast paced but giving time for the story to explore itself.

Overall, Zombies 3 is a fast paced, slightly enjoyable movie with nice songs.

I really was looking forward to this movie but...
sardan42517 July 2022
It did not even compare to the first two! I feel so bad for the actors because the screen/song writers did these actors SO DIRTY! The plot was bad and predictable. The songs aren't catchy and sound very auto-tuned. I guess I'm somewhat biased because I'm an adult watching these movies with my kid brother but I did thoroughly enjoy the first movie, and even the second movie wasn't as bad in comparison to this. I mean I guess if you're a young kid you'll still enjoy it but any child above the age of like 11 will just find it laughable.
