Plz don't make comparisons between " Gully Boy " and " Tangra Blues "

Why are so many people disliking this movie? Why is everyone comparing "Gully Boy" with this film ? Because both movies have raps !

I admit that this movie has taken references from "Gully Boy" just like "Gully Boy" was inspired a lot from "8 miles."

But my opinion about this film is that I was having fun while watching " Tangra Blues " . This film is not great but also doesn't deserve so much hate from the people .

Excellent theme bad storytelling.

The theme is undoubtedly unique. But the story has no depth. Specifically the gang war is much simplified. Music is the lifeline of the film. All raps are well made. Everyone will adore 'Baburam'. Acting more or less good.

Great attempt and execution.... Music is the king of this movie

Tangra blues--- A raw uninhibited take on the 'gully boys' of our very own Tangra lanes. It is an interesting attempt to experiment with this genre in bengali language. This film is no big-banner one with glitz and glam of the industry but it says a true story with a true spirit. The child actors have given mind blowing performances. Parambrata is definitely an added charm. Madhumita is good. These kind of movies should be encouraged more in the coming days. A big thumbs up to the makers and crew of this film.

Tangra Blues Review: A 'Well-Made' Film Without A Soul

In Tangra Blues they are made to take part-and this time win-a hip-hop competition. Your solution to losing one reality show can't be winning another reality show. That's just bad messaging on the part of filmmakers who seem otherwise socially conscious (the primary characters are non-Brahmin-the character is rechristened Sanjeeb Mondal, albeit played by, Parambrata Chatterjee, a Brahmin; and Samiul Alam is Charles Murmu), or filling up the supporting cast with non-professional faces. The point being that from time to time Tangra Blues comes off as an experiment gone wrong where SVF favourites have mistakenly walked into a documentary shoot.

Heart warming and sincere...

This is a good film with its heart in the right place. Camerawork could have been bettered but nonetheless the producer had the guts to come out with such a project when it could have run the risk of being compared to Gully Boy and for no fault of its own. Performances of actors like Parambrata (who anyway has become a veteran by now) and especially Samiul deserve special mention. The biggest dampener according to me was Madhumita, who badly needs to work on her mannerisms as well dialogue delivery especially if she aims to rule the roost in future.

So realistic making..superb cinematography..brilliant performance by all the cast..especially the female lead madhumita has given a superlative performance..her depression passion was so relatable..the best Gen-y performer in tollywood..overall Tangrablues a cult classic..a must watch..a milestone in Bengali cinema..

It could have been a game changer ,but sluggish writing and narrative ruined the show. The character development was zero and most of the characters look unconvincing including Ace actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay..The only Saving grace of the movie is Samiul Alam's terrific performance. Otherwise ,this is a complete disappointment. Though I would like to appreciate the hard work of the entire team for their brave attempt. If you love Bengali movie ,give it a try. You won't be disappointed if you expect less.

TRULY INSPIRED STORY

Based on the life of Sanjib Mondal and Group from Tangra, the film deals with slum and class differences in the society. Joyee is attracted by the performance of the Sanjib Group Then their musical journey begins and fight for a reassuring future in the shadow of wars.

Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Madhumita Sarcar have delivered great performances which were expected. Samiul Alam is also a delight to watch. The bengali film industry is maturing and achieved a milestone in bengali cinema.

Story was not bad, but they lost somewhere between the clumsy dialogue. Depicted the difference between the rich and the poor very well. Songs can be better. The dark side of kolkata came again after dwitiyo purush. Good one time watch 🌸

Acting and beauty are not same thing. Who allowed Madhumita Sarcar to act with someone renowned like Parambrata?

Her acting is just disgusting, made the full movie irritating.
