Bad Boyfriend?
Mehki_Girl4 May 2022
This wasn't a bad episode. I hope one scene was a metaphor or imaginery (I hope)...or... Something.

Anyway, a look at how easy it is to overlook all the signs and signals of a bad boyfriends.

Hint: if he tells you he's not good enough for you or is a lousy person - believe him and Run!

Why the duck?
MovieswDan21 April 2022
This was one weird episode, but I guess that is the overall theme of the show. I enjoyed the overall message that the show is trying to convey here. I just don't understand the duck. Is there symbolism? Or is it literally just a duck? Overall, pretty good episode, just wish the duck was explained better.

We've all met the duck.
He's an awful "duck". Most women have met or been involved with a "duck " like him. I married a "duck " like him. If you meet a "duck" like the one in this story, tell him to paddle off and keep looking for the right "duck ". He's/she's out there somewhere.(obviously this is a metaphor).

Ummmmmmmm

No, no, no, no. I read the book and this is so NOT how the original story went. This a most disturbing story on soooo many levels and a complete divergence from the original. This is disappointing, because the original was an up lifting story.

Did you Google me?

Cute story about co-dependency, gaslighting and self-respect. An excellent performance from Merritt Wever who produces a fabulous two-sided monologue with a duck. Ultimately though, this deploys lazy stereotyping and heavy-handed polemic making it weaker and less effective in delivering its message.

Merrit Wever- good. Bestiality- not so much
photomomma1318 April 2022
I'm still not sure what I just watched. Even as a metaphor, it's disturbing. The two stars were for Merrit being able to carry this odd story and the bonus of Jason Mantzoukas.

Merritt Wever is amazing but Warning: Spoilers
I get the metaphor but this episode went way too far. I was prepared for a less visual experience of maybe the duck's beak but the scene on the floor disgusted me beyond anything I've ever watched.

The entire series seems like a modern day Twilight Zone or a Stephen King novella.

Implied bestiality? No thanks!
dyanakap-2256423 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I have enjoyed the previous episodes of Roar, they aren't groundbreaking, but they had some interesting moments. I thought this story was going to be cute, but it became disturbing fast. I never thought it was going to descend into bestiality, so, no, it is a huge NO for me. Disgusting and pointless. I wish get back the time I spent watching it, and I did skip forward the most unsavoury moments.

Apple what were you thinking
davestirling22 May 2022
I am pretty open minded, but bring in bestiality into an episode goes way beyond the boundaries and is considered offensive. I have to wonder if anyone at Apple TV actually watched the episode, and if they did, shame on them.
