While driving a sign into the ground, Cletus, Grandpa and Tammy discover oil. The oil company shows up, unknown to anyone, to trace their oil leak to where the sign punctured one of their pipes. Feeling they are millionaires, Grandpa buys on credit an antique touring car. Cletus enjoys trying out items people are wanting to sell him and begins to serenade Gloria. When Lavinia is told that he has struck oil she begins to think highly of him and makes Gloria date him. The high life isn't quite what Grandpa and Tammy expected, however.
