The old man trying to escape, "93," was wearing a black blazer with white piping, white trousers and white plimsolls. These are the typical clothes that Number Six wore in the original series The Prisoner (1967). The commentary for this episode, with producer Trevor Hopkins and editor Yan Miles, reveals that the jacket that "93" is wearing is in fact one that Patrick McGoohan wore when starring as "6" in the original series. As an even more direct link to the original series, as the commentary also explains, the creators of the new series had approached McGoohan about taking the part of the old man in this sequence, to hint or imply that this was the central character from the original series still trying to escape. The commentary does not clearly say whether McGoohan had agreed to take the part, but in any case he died in January, 2009, before filming began.
According to an article in the New York Post, the set for the Village is in Namibia. It is a German settlement called Swakopmund, founded in 1910. The pastel colors were part of the original settlement, and not set decoration.
When 6 pounds on 2's desk, 2's cup of tea bounces just like in the opening sequence of the original series.
The music at Club More is a house/trance version of the original series theme song.
During the final escape attempt of this episode, 6 picks up a rock and throws it, just like in the opening sequence of the original series.
