Bad Batch having a delivery boy cameo
ha77y73ad979 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ryloth has, is and always will be one of the most fascinating planets in Star Wars. From the Rebels fighting in Clone Wars and rejecting the Republics help to becoming strong allies of the Jedi through out the liberation. They were originally just a species that preform for Jabba in ROTJ to becoming as fleshed out as the Naboo / Gungans through out the clone wars series. With corruption at the top and a leader that has the views of the people brings another layer to all of these stories.

The Syndulla family has been cemented in Star Wars now with clone wars, now the bad batch, appearances for Cham, believe this is the first time we see his wife on screen? But a young Hera and Chopper turning up is great to tie this back to other FIloni properties along side the Ghosts appearances in Rouge one and Rise of Skywalker. Not to mentions Choppers appearance and being mentioned across the board in Rouge One. Her accent as well has returned and this was a major character point during her face offs with Grand Admiral Thrawn and is a great nod to that series and also how far she will go through out the stories.

With the tensions building again between the people of Ryloth and Government we finally see our team back delivering supplies to a young small group of rebels that may intertwine Hera and Omega going forward. Both are around the same age and have an amazing view of the universe. Theres a few on the nose comments from both side foreshadowing stories to be played out a fun interaction between these 2. With Techs complete logical brain not understanding the feeling of flight is a nice little touch that keeps the Bad Batch grounded to their coding. But a tracker on the ship may have brought Crosshairs right to the BB again.

The best touch about this episode is the fact that the clone was questioning the order to arrest Hera, Crosshair has always said "good solider follows orders" having the chip fully enhanced to keep him on track but the clone commander questioning any order could open a whole story that could come full circle by the end of the series. Are there more clones that remove the chip? Can the chip be overridden by genuine thought?

The Juggernaut turning up again as a prisoner transport again another detail of continuity same as Rouge One. Going from a troop transport to a prisoner transport but seem to be hit quite easily. Proven twice now! Old school snatch and grab to get the prisoners free. With a turn that i never thought disney would make and killing a senator with a head shot just proves how ruthless the Empire and Crosshairs have become throughout the story. Are we going to see a Bad Batch prison break on our hands!

Great Episode Tying In To Existing Media
apprenticeewok9 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved this episode, but sometimes I don't think the show is staying true to the name The Bad Batch. This is one of my favorite episodes of the show and it barely even had the members of The Bad Batch in it. I am guessing they will come into play more in the next episode dealing with Ryloth, but I am still enjoying the things happening around The Bad Batch than I am their story itself.

Very good episode
aidan-clare10 July 2021
I thought the last episode was pretty pointless, and I was looking forward to seeing more episodes that look at the new Empire's effects on different planets. The last episode explored this idea but in a very cursory way. If that means taking a detour from the lead characters, that's fine by me. After all, the series takes place at the end of the Clone Wars and the beginning of the Empire, so exploring the theme of a slow descent into totalitarianism and imperialism on former Republic worlds or allied worlds is par for the course.

I think the nuance that goes into these characters and their different ideologies regarding the Empire's occupation gives them more depth and makes you care about them more. (Also I don't think the fact it has Hera in it really adds or subtracts from the episode's quality overall; you don't need to have seen Rebels to understand what's happening in the episode). What makes the episode interesting is the internal disagreement between the Syndulla family members about whether the Empire's occupation is the price they have to pay for peace, or whether they've basically shaken hands with the devil. Also it continues to delve into the recurring theme of Clone's opposition to their commanders, which will probably be expanded upon in the next ep of the arc.

The very beginnings of Rebels.
ingra889 July 2021
This looks like the creation of Rebels... First we saw the beginnings of Kanan Jarrus(Caleb Dune) Now Hera Syndulla!

This certifies that Rebels is more canon than ever!

Devil's Deal
kaden_lewis9 July 2021
This episode was great! It was very unique in a way I didn't see coming. This episode was not about The Bad Batch at all, Hunter and Tech had 1 line each, and Omega had a few, they also only had around 2 minutes of screen time. The rest of the episode all took place on Ryloth, and revolved around Hera from Rebels's parents and their troubles with the Empire controlling their planet. It was also an origin story for Hera's character as a child. In this episode she desperately wanted to fly an aircraft, and later she ended up being able too. We also got a nice interaction between Omega and Hera when they were looking around The Bad Batch's ship. Lastly, I knew I was giving this episode a 10/10 as soon as I saw Choppers head pop up behind he rocks. I nearly jumped out of my seat, I love Chopper.

From what I can tell from the end of this episode, the next one will also take place on Ryloth, and maybe The Bad Batch will help out. I can't wait for next week!

Awesome episode
haa410 July 2021
My favorite episode of the series so far. This had a great Clone Wars vibe to it and I loved that it centered around Hera Syndulla. It was great to get her backstory since we got part of Kanan's in the premiere. Always awesome to see Chopper! This one seemed to be setting up the next episode so I'm guessing the BB will factor in more next week.

Not feeling that one
tristan_199 July 2021
Rarely do I dislike a Star Wars episode (no matter the show), but this one was a little rough. I kept pausing while watching over and over again, because I was struggling. Now, if the people here end up playing a part in the last episodes of the season, and join the group as allies in some sort of way, it might be worth it. But it didn't work as a stand-alone episode.

Perfect backstory.
wetmars10 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What a fascinating backstory. I do appreciate that the writers wanted to do something different instead of mainly focusing on the Bad Batch. All of the people complaining that it's some "Rebels prequel" can go cry about it. It was awesome to see Chopper in the glorious animation. The politics were interesting, though. I liked Omega's friendship with Hera. It would be nice to see them reunite. But, we will see if Omega can fully survive in the season finale. Great fan service here, we had Kanan's backstory.

10/10.

This is not a Bad Batch episode
pinobarbaritano-4484011 July 2021
Why do we get a episode that's like 75 % a rebels prequel... this is is by far the worst episode for the bad batch... we still have 0 development for Echo and Tech... and now we get a origin Story for hera?!?! Why? We had enough fillerlike episodes in this show... and if that wouldn't be enough our Bad batch team appears in the last 25 % of this episode... it is called the bad batch... i want to SEE the bad batch... not originstorys for other characters.

I needed to rate this episode
janusswti18 August 2021
This is my second best episode of the season. My most beloved episode is 9 "Bouny Lost" (which i will not rate) because of Cad Bane. But this episode had one thing that excited me...

Eleni Syndulla. Hera's mother. She is the best drawn twillek so far. The most beautifull art work i have ever seen in animation. I fell in love. Seriously! And the voice actor delivers with the slightly french accent... If i was many many years younger i could have... What the heck? Eleni is more beautiful than Hera or any other twillek i have ever seen. And her calm appearance won me.

Nothing else matters as a certain heavy metal band says.

For the Rebels Fans
SHU_Movies9 July 2021
It's a good episode, but barely has the Bad Batch in it at all! It's less of a Bad Batch episode and more of a Rebels prequel. It's insane to think that from all the cameos we get in the show's episodes, the title characters themselves would be among them!

Chop chop...
domsepulveda-206929 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Dave filoni did it again, seeing clone wars characters reunited with rebels, makes the animated universe of star wars even more appreciated. When a chapter moves you to tears, you have already achieved the goal. Eager as the end of the season is shaping up. Our team only gets one cameo, but the possibilities are even more exciting.

Decent episode
Luisvtw12 September 2021
In this episode we see some new characters and some we already know. It's always cool to see more of Ryloth because I always liked the episodes in The Clone Wars. Overall I can say that this was a decent episode but nothing great.

Rebels
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic25 May 2022
This episode and its follow up act as a prequel to the Rebels series as we see how Hera Syndulla starts out on her path to being a prominent rebel.

The Bad Batch only feature briefly, delivering weapons to Hera's uncle as he tries to foment an uprising against the Empire.

This is an interesting bit of background for Hera Syndulla. Most notable is the animation of backgrounds, planet surfaces etc which are phenomenal. Most beautiful looking episode.

My rating: 8/10.

Devil's Deal
MrFilmAndTelevisionShow13 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A very different episode (in a good way). Finally Orn Free Taa is gone forever, and good riddance to him, the Bad Batch themselves are barely in it which isn't a problem as the Hera storyline was very interesting indeed. Hera's father was shown in a different far more reasonable light.

Just how I like it
Trey_Trebuchet26 August 2021
I must say I am really loving all of the tie-ins this show has with both The Clone Wars show and Rebels! It really seals everything together nicely.

I legitimately enjoyed everything going on too. What I have been most looking forward to in this show is the transition from clone wars era to original trilogy era and they did some of that really well here. Ryloth seems to always be in some of the best episodes.

There's almost no Bad Batch in this episode... And I still ended up liking it.

Flipping through a family photo album
themysteriousvoice10 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
While the episode is quite good on its artistic merit alone, the emotional impact of seeing Hera Syndulla on screen again was unexpected. It was like looking through a photo album and seeing a photo of a beloved family member.

This episode expertly explores ideas of innocence, the cost of war, and the threats a child faces while coming-of-age in a nascent fascist state. Star Wars is alive and well.

Kevin Kiner astounds with his acute sense of how to drive the mood of a scene through music.

I want you to imagine an episode of Mandalorian about Poe Dameron's parents
davidkippy9 July 2021
So say the 4th episode of Mandalorian season 2 is different. Instead of him going back to Nevarro, it starts on Yavin 4 and Poe is growing up with his parents. The Imperial remnant is trying to claim the system and we get a boring political story, interspersed with scenes of Poe and BB-8 on stupid hijinks. Oh and Poe constantly says "I want to be a pilot!" "Are you a pilot?" "It's my biggest dream to become a pilot."

At one point Mando stops by, and in exchange for his ship being repaired, he fights for Poe's family for a while.

I'm guessing you probably wouldn't like it, right? Well, neither did I.

Isn't this Called "The Bad Batch"
coolbutfunny9 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I get having Hera is cool and all but where is The Bad Batch they just gave Hera's people the weapons and left. There was a good scene between Hera and Omega but idk I'm happy we got Crosshair because he's not used enough but geez I don't care about these people on Hera's world I want just another Bad Batch and Crosshair episodes, maybe there depriving us of them so they can have an awesome finale or something?

Bad batch only a cameo in this episode?
jdholst9 July 2021
This has been the first Bad Batch episode I have not enjoyed. I felt like it was bad fan service at the most. I believe rebels and Hera Symdullah were awesome but a "prequel" or an origin story was not asked for, especially in the namesake of "The Bad Batch" series. This episode did nothing to push the plot forward of the Bad Batch and I guess the only character development that happened was to Crosshair even if it was minuscule at best. The most I'm disappointed at is that we have to wait two weeks for plot development to this awesome story.

Bad Batch? Nope Rebels prequel
garenteen9 July 2021
So, I'm gonna keep this short as to not spoil things, but the show is more about setting things up for the Rebels show and the original trilogy. This episode alone has so little Bad Batch it's laughable. I get wanting to tell side stories, but this is not the first time they did it. This episode is a far cry from the excellent first episode.

Rebels prequel
plowrie859 July 2021
Bad batch barely appears in it. Instead, what you get is more back story for a character nobody cared about in a show very few people cared about. Not everyone in the galaxy needs to know each other.
