Keep this coming! S09E13

Having a sense for an appropriate mix of story strands is one of the characteristics that make Dick Wolf's team so successful. We have ongoing romantic tension, particularly between Brett and Casey, but that is really secondary to the ongoing family atmosphere, centred around the obvious father of the house, Chief Boden, but including his actual family, the Herrmann family and now the Cruz family. As I have said in other reviews, I believe that it is the successful incorporation of the aspect of family that results in a world-beating TV series. Law and Order: SVU, Bones, Castle, The Mentalist, they all fall into that mould of a suspenseful storyline peopled by actors who successfully present a family group. UK productions such as Silent Witness, Vera, and the Endeavour/Morse/Lewis series hold to that model. I have to think that there may not have been such a family aspect in the original Law & Order series., and that it why it didn't survive, while SVU is soldiering on to series ?23? The UK series of Silent Witness is now heading for its 27th year. As for present viewing, the suspense of individual episodes keeps us viewing these individual episodes, but it's the ongoing family that keeps us viewing long-term. Then again we have the comedy aspect, with the swaddling contest, and the Veronicat storyline concluding later. It all keeps us coming back for more!

Weak.... why no crossover?
wyattap8 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love a good crossover and this could have been another. Instead, we have fire doing pd's job and Bowden telling a load of bangers there is a gas leak and makes them run.... like I'm fairly sure they would have told Bowden where to go.

Then for the girl who was rescued telling Stella that PD sorted the issue out... the department she said that she didn't want involved! Talk about a 360 turn.

Rest was OK.... but could Casey actually sort the love affair out for the love of god.... hmm.

This why you don't trust reviews

Just a reminder that the biggest haters are always the ones leaving the reviews... This episode was actually really funny and heartwarming, especially Stella and teacher. Yes, I have questions about the man in the tree but usually they would explain that. The fact that they didn't dosent really bother me because IT´S NOT A DOCUMENTARY. My only complaint is that I like Casey and Sylvi better platonic so the amount of time building up to that dosen´t seem as interesting like it did with Gabby. But then again, that is just me. But no, in no way, shape or form would I say this show has gone downhill.

Stupid
Zedyeti7 May 2021
This episode with the random phone call for help is just dumb. Can't someone that's just standing there listening call their cop buddies and tell them what's up and maybe trace the call? This show is ridiculous sometimes... ok most of the times but still haha.

They arent even trying anymore

Another case of the firefighters suddenly becoming cops. The whole plot was spectacularly unrealistic and stupid. Has me debating if its even worth continuing to watch considering that this show has really gone downhill.

How did he get in the tree
glenn-whitelaw14 July 2021
This is either lazy writing or just stupid. Did the guy fly into the tree to avoid the accident. Its physically impossible for that to happen considering they hit a mail box.

Agreed

Warning: Spoilers
I have to agree with other's that have said this episode is just stupid. Not to call the police right away and a guy in a tree at least 15 feet in the air. I have been binge watching this and I like the fact later years there is less politics but the episodes are just dumber. I'm glad Casey is leaving because he is a grade A a$(ho$&. It helps not having Dawson but it's time they dump Matt Casey. I'm done watching. It may not make a difference with the show but it's no more mind numbing for me.
