- The team has to infiltrate the shadowy R.I.Z. to stop it from unleashing a worm that can take down the entire electrical grid, and they must use Harry to do it.
- The team go after RIZ, who is unveiling their scheme to undermine the world's computer systems and sell their worm to the highest bidder. Meanwhile, they discover that Harry has turned to the dark side, and a familiar face from the past shows up to help.—Gislef
- Sophie puts her plans to go back to London to be a director on hold. Eliot is watching the news, and the men that he worked with who died when the oil rig exploded. Parker is watching with Eliot, and says that the funeral of the five men was that day. Sophie hasn't heard from Harry, and Eliot points out that Ethan blew up the oil rig and killed five innocent men, just to win a court case. He asks what they're going to do to Ethan, and Sophie points out that if Ethan "mysteriously" dies, they don't get to prove what he did, and nobody gets a penny.
Breanna joins them and says that Ethan used a computer worm to cause the explosion, and the worm overheated the worm drills. She found traces of the worm in the data they scraped from the rig, but it doesn't prove who did it. If they can find the source code of who used the worm, they can prove they're guilty. Eliot figures that someone is helping Ethan, and Breanna says that it's RIZ. Bligh arrived at RIZ's New Orleans office during the trial, and they have a huge cybersecurity department. Sophie tells Breanna to pull up the specs on RIZ's office building in New Orleans, and Eliot tells Breanna to take her time and do it right.
Two months later at the RIZ office, Sophie walks into the lobby posing as a cybersecurity expert. Eliot has already infiltrated the building posing as a security guard, and he summons the lobby elevator with Parker hiding on top. She switches to a car going up and heads to the server room, while Eliot goes to the security surveillance room and takes over from the guard there. Once he's alone, Eliot accesses the cameras. Breanna is outside in a food truck, and directs Sophie to the cybersecurity administrator's office where any incriminating emails will be.
While an aide takes Sophie to the conference room, Parker gets to the server room and Eliot can't bypass Blight's security. Picking the electronic lock, Parker goes in while Breanna overrides the motion sensors. Sophie goes to the ladies' room. The aide, Eugene, says that due to the new protocols, he has to wait nearby. Sophie wonders why Blight is increasing security after she committed the crime, Parker gets into the server room, but finds a glass door blocking her path, that isn't on the specs. Meanwhile, Sophie breaks into the security office but finds that's it's empty. She turns to find another aide behind her, and says that she's there to meet the cyberteam. The aide says that Blight has moved all the equipment up to the 20th floor,
The guard returns to the surveillance room and demands to see Eliot's new badge. Eliot doesn't have one, and knocks the guard out. Another guard approaches Parker, who takes his taser and knocks him out with it. Blight is in the hallway, and Sophie quickly turns her back and walks away only to run into Harry. He ignores Sophie and goes to Bligh.
The team gets out and goes back to the bar, and Breanna confirms that Harry started working for RIZ two days after Ethan's trial ended. They figure Harry went back to being "evil", and Sophie wonders why Harry let her go. Parker doesn't believe Harry might be trying to help them, and tells Sophie that not everyone can be saved. Sophie finally says that they should go "steal" Harry and find out what he knows.
The team goes to a power substation, and Parker and Eliot go in disguised as workers. Sophie tells them over the comms to bring Harry back in one piece. Breanna blanks the cameras covering their path, but realizes it was harder than it should have been and someone else is in the system. Eliot and Parker see Harry talking to Ethan, and they listen as Harry tells Ethan he was sent there to make sure no one figures what Ethan is up to. Ethan insists that it's his project and he's not going to let Harry take any of his credit, and Harry points out that he's spent the last eight months with a crew that took people like Ethan apart, and he knows a lot about security. Ethan hands over the security protocols and storms off,
Harry sees Eliot and Parker approaching him and runs. They easily catch him, and Breanna warns them that someone else is fighting her. Harry tells his former teammates to get out before it happens, and the alarms go off. Breanna recognizes the code and who is responsible. A security team arrives, and Eliot throws Harry to the floor, then fights the team with Parker. Hardison arrives and knocks out the last guard from behind, and tells Harry to come with him. The four of them run out, and Hardison says the alarm is to cover up his hardware taps. Hardison gives the security controls to Breanna and kills the alarms, and has her kill the motion sensors so they can get out. Parker kisses Hardison.
The team regroups at the bar, and Eliot complains that Hardison kept them out of the loop. Harry explains that he couldn't reach out to the team without compromising them, so he reached out to Hardison instead. Hardison and Harry talked via paper to avoid RIZ's electronic surveillance of Harry, and Hardison talked Harry through hacking the RIZ servers. They confirmed that Ethan worked for RIZ ten years ago, and they maneuvered Ethan into position at GP. The rig explosion was intended to prove that RIZ could shut down the US power grid, to show that they could and sell it to the highest bidder.
Sophie talks to Harry privately and asks him why he did what he did. Harry says that he thought he had to dig into RIZ on his own, and his guilt drove him when he misjudged the situation with Grace and Ethan, and almost got Parker, Breanna, and Eliot killed. Harry wasn't going to let guilty destroy Sophie's "family" like it destroyed his. Sophie says that they're family because they learned they can't go it alone and to ask for help, and Harry asks her to help him finish it. Sophie agrees but figures they'd better give the others some time to resolve their issues.
Parker assures Hardison that they don't have any issues to resolve, and Eliot insists that he's not upset. Hardison shakes hands with him and they hug, and Sophie and Harry come back and Hardison explains that RIZ is performing a supply chain hack to plant the worm, and RIZ owns the subsidiary companies. With Hardison's help, Harry has got evidence that RIZ owns dozens of the subsidiary companies, and guys like Ethan protect the companies. RIZ has access to all the government computers, and they blew up the rig to convince their potential buyers they have the access. If they cause a blackout, they prove they can get into any system anywhere. RIZ is going to bring down the US power grid, and Harry's stolen emails aren't enough to do more than cause a minor scandal. They need the worm source code to prove RIZ is the mastermind. The code is on one server 24 floors up with no connection to the outside. Hardison figures if he could install the hardwire taps on the substation, he could grab the code before RIZ wiped it from the server. Only the Feds have the necessary backdoor access, and Eliot says he knows someone who can give them the access. The backdoor has to be opened at the substation and the RIZ server, so Harry will have to go back in undercover. Sophie says that she's done and Parker should run the team, and Harry goes back to his position.
Eliot meets Maria outside a hotel, and she gives him a thumb drive with the Federal codes for the power grid. Before she hands it over, Maria asks Eliot why she should give him something that would end her career. Eliot says that the rig explosion was him and his team failing to stop it, and his team work outside the law. He tells Maria that they used to be criminals, and they've worked off the books for the government. Eliot insists that they're the good guys, and Maria believes him. Maria won't cross the line to be with a criminal despite her feelings for him, and walks off after giving him the drive.
That night, Blight goes to see Harry in his office and admires his new, handcrafted wooden desk. She says that they need to do something about his old partners, and she'll deal with them later that night after the blackout RIZ is causing. Bligh says that they'll lose power for only 60 seconds before the backup generators kick in, tells him that everyone will be taken care of that night, and leaves.
Later, Harry goes to the auditorium where Bligh is with the prospective buyers, as Ethan prepares for his presentation. Ethan demands to know why Harry is there, and Harry says that he's just double-checking the servers. Harry goes to the server room to open the back door at that end. Sophie and Breanna are in the food truck outside the substation, and Sophie tells Breanna that they'll have to trust Harry to do his job, because they can't communicate. Hardison, Parker, and Eliot are inside and tell a worker that they're an inspection task force. They reach the panel, and Eliot talks about how let his guard down with Maria. Hardison and Parker assure him that he opened himself up. Hardison accesses the back door, but the connection is interrupted and Bligh comes in with her security team and tells Harry that the team's weakness is loyalty. The trio in the substation run when they realize they've been made, while Bligh tells Harry that loyalty made them predictable. Bligh takes Harry's phone and has her men take Harry to his office, and lock him in. Bligh tells Harry that her men scoured his office and found the files, and the digital copies he made. Without the code, Harry has nothing.
The others meet in the food truck and Breanna plays back the audio from Harry's office. Breanna says that they should break into the server room and steal the code, even though Bligh knows they're coming, and pull an hour's worth of data off the server, as well as rescue Harry, all before the blackout.
Ethan gives his presentation to the buyers, and Sophie comes in. Bligh walks out and Sophie goes with her, and they go to a nearby conference room. Sophie offers to let RIZ go if Bligh cancels her scheme, hands over Ethan and release Harry, and Bligh figures that Sophie is a distraction.
Eliot walks into one of the building's five street-level points of entry, then runs off after making sure the guards spot him. More guards intercept him, and Eliot fights them. two more guards arrive.
Bligh figures Parker is getting into Harry's office to free him, while Breanna goes to the server.
A figure enters the server room.
The blackout begins throughout the city, and the buyers watch from the window. Bligh tells Sophie that it's too late, and the five street-level exits locked down, along with the server door. The power to the server shut off, so Breanna can't steal the code. Sophie just smiles, and Bligh tells her she's not getting out of the building alive. Bligh starts counting down from 60 seconds when the power comes back up, and Sophie says that she decided to use the blackout when it disabled the security systems in the building.
Eliot fights the guards in the dark.
Breanna climbs through the vents to Harry's office
One of the guards Eliot first attacked was Hardison in disguise, and Hardison slipped into the server room before the door locked.
Bligh figures that Hardison didn't have enough time to download the code from the server, and they have all the information Harry stole. Sophie tells Bligh that she allowed Harry to order the custom desk,
Harry opens the secret compartment in the desk, with paper copies of everything he stole.
Bligh tries to call security, but the phones are dead due to the blackout. She points out that Harry still has to make it out the building, and Sophie points out that only the street-level entrances are sealed.
Breanna opens the locked door, and she and Harry to go to the server room. Parker breaks in through the room's window, and Breanna calls up a drone to haul the whole server with the code on it. As the drone flies off with the server, the rest of the team drop down to the street on zip lines.
Sophie tells Bligh that the whole thing would have been impossible... if Bligh hadn't engineered the blackout. Bligh points out that Sophie still in the building, and as the lights come up Sophie notes that Eliot has been in the dark for 60 seconds. Eliot comes in with an unconscious guard, and escorts Sophie out.
Bligh goes to the auditorium to check with Ethan. Eliot, Sophie, and Harry come in. Eliot ignores Ethan, but Harry punches Ethan in the jaw.
Back at the bar, Eliot serves food for a celebratory dinner. Breanna sends emails to the RIZ people secretly working at the subsidiary companies, suggesting they make donations to the families of the dead men or they'll rat them out to law enforcement. However, she's going to double-cross them once they donate $10 million. Hardison used the code to spell out RIZ's name in lit windows on building, meaning that RIZ can't cover up that they caused the blackout.
Hardison says that he might stick around for a while, while Harry calls his daughter. She tells Harry that Ethan went to the FBI to confess and go into witsec and they're going after Bligh. His daughter also wants to move in with Harry, and says that he's done conning, but is going to go back to being a lawyer and helping people in need.
Sophie walks Harry out, and Harry tells her that they were both lost in grief when they first met. She saw that and helped him, and Sophie says that Harry helped her and he sees her as she could be and she's going to miss that. Sophie kisses Harry on the cheek and wishes him luck, calling him "Harry" instead of "Mr. Wilson" for the first time. Harry leaves, and Sophie takes off her wedding ring and goes back to the others.
Sophie tells the team that it wasn't her final performance, and the jobs are her stage. Parker is happy to let Sophie lead the team, and won't miss the paperwork. The team gives Sophie all of the paperwork and walks out.
