True story
zorha13 August 2021
Note to the reviewers: Not sure how you would change the plot when it is a true story. Then it wouldn't be a true story. And to the one who said it was not a good roll model for girls, umm, it's a movie and not a school tutorial.

Fascinating tale but a few plot holes!
Chartreuse111 June 2021
Anna finds herself alone with 2 children and no financial support after she catches her husband cheating on her She goes to see her friend, Letty, who has an interesting job and Anna becomes a piece of the action to make ends meet. Jana Kramer did a very good job as the lead but the hang-up calls got to be annoying after a while. The audience got the point after a couple. The movie jumped around a bit with its sequencing and the ending could have been better! Still, it's a good watch!!!

Nothing special - just another lifetime movie with predictable ending.
casablancavic16 November 2021
Anna was greedy and greedy people who decide to flash money around always end up with problems.

Anna was no exception.

She got what she deserved.

You already know how it ends but the only thing wrong with how she was apprehended was wrong.

FBI didn't have any need to draw their guns as she was not violent.

She was surrounded on too many sides for a non-violent "so-called" crime.

No guns by law enforcement was needed - and a smart lawyer would have that case dropped immediately for that very reason.

As Anna was not read her rights and was not given the right to call a lawyer, she could be legally held for 24 hours and then any charges would be able to be dropped. If charges were not dropped by that time, any lawyer could easily make a case and have the charges dropped and then make a lawsuit against the police department for false arrest and imprisonment.

Anna was also stupid in having huge amounts of money in shoe boxes in her home. All she had to do was transfer her money to a financial investor and then invest in numerous ventures or she could have bought electronic currency or put it in other areas. She is lousy in money management.

Also, Anna was meeting with millionaires and billionaires, yet never even considered discussing options with them to invest her money or have them consider investing their money into a venture with her. She instead buys massive land with no real understanding with the need for what could be developed and she had no other investors along with her. That alone shows how poorly thought out her finances and management skills are.

She only had the ability to promote something that doesn't need any effort to promote it...

With all the money she made, she should have invested in getting a business education - and there were so many free courses available on the internet, that she would not need to worry about tuition.

Overall, she never understood business at all - and regardless of the legality of whatever business she went into, she would have skewered at it - because she wasn't open to discussion by others, nor did she have any vision of real expansion and versatile growth. She could have done so much with travel, hospitality, public relations, marketing, advertising and promotion, media services, entertainment and much much more - but she limited her business and herself to the most base mentality of that particular business.

That puts Anna in a position of being caught with next to no ability to prove herself otherwise.

There was nothing exceptional about her business - she does what everybody else in that business does if they have no real vision or are unable to think outside of the standard service.

She doesn't offer anything of real value.

Her business skills were nothing special. So whether this was a true event or a fiction story, it made no difference.

Anna didn't branch out and diversify her business.

She's basic, greedy and self indulgent and her being arrested is just a premise that any good lawyer can easy have the charges dropped with almost no argument.

Even a first year law student can have the charges dismissed with a half-assed argument.

Anna was stupid - and greedy and that is never a good combination

She wanted much more than she needed and could use, so she learned a lesson that business schools don't teach.

No hard matter. If she was smart, she would offer so much more than just a routine personal intimate service - she would be something that encapsulates adventures beyond the bedrooms and massage that her business consisted of.

Anybody with half a brain would do this.

So this is really a story about poor business skills - not good business skills.

I have absolutely no disrespect to anybody who works in this field - as it is a service that is justifiably needed - so why not really expand it to offer something that really develops into much more.

A bad business model in any industry or service will always have problems and people who are greedy in them will always end up in the same predicament as Anna.

So, as the escort/massage service industry is a needed business - why not develop it into something of a better and more versatile business.

That's what a true entrepreneur would do. They would not just keep the regular methods that have been arounds for centuries.

The world has greatly changed - and business has to adapt and change with it.

Soccer Mom Madam
allmoviesfan7 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
In this Lifetime adaptation of real-life events - read, a very loose interpretation - One Tree Hill's Jana Kramer stars as a wife whose marriage falls apart due to her husband's infidelities and ends up working at a "massage parlour" to make ends meet. Yes, one of THOSE parlours. She goes from that role to becoming a madam, allowing some very raunchy scenes to take place.

It was fascinating watching Kramer's character bounce from being a caring, doting mother to a madam having to fend off competitors trying to steal her clients and escorts, too. And soon she is inevitably needing to fend off law enforcement as well.

A better than average Lifetime movie.

A less than basic lifetime
zachwan9 June 2021
Wow I mean the acting is just laughable. It's a very interesting story that I've never heard of it but the fact that it was made by lifetime it just ruins it. I mean Jesus they even used the "wonder how did I get here?" trope. Great story ruined by horrible acting and camera shooting.

Annoying narration
HorribleDrBones13 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What was this? It was so annoying trying to watch. One thing I can't stand is a voice-over narration of every little thing happening and whenever a new unnecessary character was introduced, their info would be written on the screen showing their name, who they were, and their net worth. Newsflash: no one cares. This movie reminded me of that extremely mediocre Lifetime movie called "The Secret Sex Life of a Single Mom" (2014). Annoying main character with other characters who have the personalities of dead moths with a constant background narration going on. Spoiler alert: you're not interesting at all. Go back to doing your only talent - spreading your legs.

Exclusivity
lavatch19 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
While the premise of "Soccer Mom Madam" seemed far-fetched in places, there was nonetheless a strong central character in Anna, a woman of resilience, boldness, and, above all, honor.

A widow who becomes destitute after the death of her first husband and betrayed by a lout of a boyfriend, Anna puts her entrepreneurial skills to use in the "salon" of her cousin Letty. Much more ambitious than Letty, Anna then starts her own business modeled on the idea of "exclusivity." Only the finest, most cultivated, and most dynamic women will be hired. And the clientele is a carefully researched batch of the titans of industry in New York.

It was difficult to believe that Anna became a millionaire with her "Empire Elite" salon. But within five years, she has developed such a lucrative "stable" of women employees that she is apparently able to purchase a literal stable and a horse for her young daughter Mia.

A couple of the plot strands of the film were never fully developed. Anna begins a romance with Owen, a successful architect and widower. But Owen drops out of the film at the precise moment when Anna needs him the most. The mysterious Simone Stepien was a European madam who joined forces with Anna to form an international cartel of elite escort services. It was never made clear whether Simone was one of the culprits in the undoing of Anna.

The filmmakers attempted to develop a theme of hubris when Anna becomes too greedy. By the time she decides to get out of her business, the timing is wrong with the crash of 2008. Her investment in real estate goes sour, and she makes a desperate attempt to get back into the "business." That is her true downfall.

One of the most interesting strands of the narrative is Anna's refusal to sell out any of her clients or former employees. Letty had warned Anna "not to aim too high. " Anna aimed too high and paid the price. She winds up in a pig farm in Pennsylvania, but stands tall with her dignity. She was a survivor and an individual who took responsibility for her actions.

Better than some, but still pretty bad
GNickL15 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There's certainly worse "movies" on LMN. About all you can say is that it's not so painful to watch like half of what's on that network. Unfortunately, my girlfriend makes me watch theses things and since I love her, I subject myself to this crap.

The madam in this show is just too upper class and slick for this to make much sense., And messing with super rich guys who have way more resources than she has would have gotten her F'ed up or killed pretty quickly.

And ya know, I was hoping just that would happen. The madam is such a beyotch that I was hoping she'd get taken down. I guess the ending was supposed to make us feel sorry for her, but no. Her daughter walking out was the best part. But then we had to have a happy ending. F that crap. Back in the day, they'd have her go to prison with the message, "crime doesn't pay." Now they have to have the mixed message. I've got nothing against real escorts or sex workers, but the people who control and manipulate them deserve a special place in hell...like the main character in this garbage.

Just awful!
gbedbrook11 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
As other reviews have said, the acting in this film is terrible!! And even if it's based on a true story, it is so disjointed it's unreal. The main woman in it just stares at people for about 10 seconds without speaking. If it happened in real life, you'd think she was demented. The oldest daughter falls off her horse at one point, and then limps on the wrong leg. The football matches are as with all football matches in films, absolutely awful. And what happened to the man she was dating near the end? One morning, she woke up saying she thought something bad had happened and you never see him again. No break up. Nothing. He just disappears into thin air overnight. But as for the ending, I couldn't believe my eyes! I don't want to give anything away, but she literally on the spur of the moment just says "this is what a breakdown looks like" as she drives off with one single tear in her eye (is that what a breakdown looks like?) leaving the kids behind and goes to volunteer on a pig farm for 14 months. And that's it! That's the end of the film! I couldn't believe it. Absolutely terrible. I don't waste your time.
