Over acted over dramatic but a suspenseful movie
yeodawg28 July 2010
5 means I got what I asked for but I wouldn't watch it again. Like any other good/bad cop drama this is about a good cop being killed by a group of dirty cops. The investigation reveals the good cop wasn't so good and the dirty cops not so bad. the suspense is a lie, see the real deal is this is a vehicle for two pretty-boy actors one slapstick gross-out comedy and the other carrying David CARUSO's water on CSI to dig into their acting chops. They brood, they shout, they overact, in the most plainest I can do more, you won't write the script so we stole the script mode. but all in all i liked it, it was an enjoyable movie if it was a book it'd be a page turner. 50cent was in the movie if only for 10 seconds. He probably got paid more than both the leading men combined for the 10 seconds of him grimacing and slurring.if I were them I'd chip in half my salary to him because people are watching for him.

Run of the mill

This is a decent film and I think that's the perfect word to use, decent.

The acting wasn't awful but like another review said I think it was over acted in parts. Good plot, story and flow to the movie although nothing stood out to make it more than a good average film.

I had this film bought for me as I am a 50 Cent fan. His part in this film is nothing more than a cameo although he does do well in his role and perfect for it also. However if this is the only reason you want to watch the film it is not worth it.

If you like to 'collect' DVD's I would suggest to buy the film as you will enjoy one or two viewings of this. If your not that type, wait until you see it on the TV and spend your money elsewhere.

Soft boiled
Prismark1025 December 2014
Caught in the Crossfire is a straight to DVD movie with 50 Cent who has a high billing but in reality has a minor role although he is also one of the producers.

This is a low budget by the numbers crime drama told in dull flashback about corrupt cops and bad guys. It goes back and forth between a shootout by some cops and a debriefing interview with their superiors who might not be on the straight and narrow. You can guess it has shades of The Usual Suspects by using this narrative device.

Chris Klein is the star who briefly seemed to be heading for the big time over a decade ago when the American Pie films were released but it turned out he was another bland wannabee.

Caught in the Crossfire is just about watchable but is badly acted and clichéd and is nowhere near to be the hard boiled thriller it aspires to be.

Cops And Bad Guys
boblipton21 August 2020
Cops talking about how a street gang put the targets on their own backs, then a shaky-cam filmed street battle; next we get to see one of those rooms with a one-way mirror, but the room is just as dark as the corridor. Clearly, the lighting cameraman is telling us, we're in murky territory, one of those movies in which the only difference between the cops and the gangs is the badges.

Brian Miller's cops-vs-cops drama is a standard affair, with Chris Klein, Adam Rodriguez, and Curtis Jackson. It has two action sequences that bookend endless talk over a series of shots by cinematographer William Eubank. He tries to keep up interest with close-ups of paper coffee cups, and putting the camera so close to the subject the lens fogs. It doesn't work for me, since the background is never interesting, so it's all endless talk.

Cheapshot story, Lifetime movies are far more enjoyable
techgeeknc16 December 2021
Cheap shot story. Repeated dialogs. Music and appearance don't cut it. Overall monotonous , low budgeted movie super flop. Waste of time. Most of the movie is shot in semi lighted area to cover up any mistakes in the play.

Not a banger...But definitely a good watch.
alf-d-great7 December 2010
This movie was a very pleasant surprise for me. I thought because it was a direct-to-DVD movie staring 50 Cent that it would be a total waste of my time. But to my surprise, the guy had plenty of dialog and did a good job pulling off the realism of the particular role that he played. If i had the option to watch it again, i probably would... though i wouldn't recommend it as a double watch. The story line was well put together over all. It was not a Hollywood Hit, of course. But in my opinion, one would not be disappointed to have paid to go see this flick. And the other actor's were right on point as they normally are. Im looking forward to another one like this. Next time ought to be a real Banger.

Not what one might expect.
tele-cine4 July 2010
This movie had no particular agenda, really, which in itself, is great. It didn't pretend, just proceeded to assemble the parts of a down-to-earth crime story. This gritty drama possesses a sense of validity that its glossy, slick, higher-budget counterparts often lack. This made for a refreshing difference. Lots of surprises from a well-written story that builds the plot deliberately.

Adam Rodriguez, of CSI Miami fame, did an excellent job of acting. We're accustomed to expect this from him, but for some reason a lot of television actors encounter difficulty doing as well in movies. Better-than-decent acting, and excellent "street feel", added to the production values by 50 Cent.

I particularly enjoyed the local flavor of the Michigan scenery. Felt almost like New England, in some ways. I had to give a look at the production information to tell where it was shot, to be certain. There was no overuse of cop-props, or crash scenes, but still plenty of action as things unfolded. I think the whole cast, and everyone involved, deserve a "pat on the back" and congrats for this one. Worth a watch, even two.

Good Movie - Fast Paced
seorocks19 August 2013
This is certainly a good movie worth seeing again to focus on all aspects.. as it has many twists and you need to keep watching.. it's super fast paced which is great and i love about. Michael Matthias acting is good in this movie and I look forward to seeing more from his end..

I won't go into detail, but you end up thinking everyone cannot be trusted.. and everyone is part of the bad crew... pleasant surprises. One of the things I disliked is the lighting (felt too dark) and also the way it was done. It could have been done in a smoother more professional way... i kept thinking that it must be 2003 movie, but its a 2010.

A Different kind
amanda-elliott-112 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I think this is great. Its a completely different role for Chris Klein which I grew to love his character watching all those American Pie movies. He does a great job at it in this movie and also by adding Adam Rodriguez to the mix just makes it a great duo. Grand Rapids is a beautiful place and kudos to shooting it all there. 50 Cent also does a spectacular job with a huge amount of dialogue that he has in the middle of the movie.

This movie makes you think. You might even need to watch it again because there is a few different ways it can go, and that is totally the beauty of it.
