I didn't like this show in the beginning, was watching it just for Hilary but since the last few episodes, this show has picked up, the jokes are landing, story is getting better and the romantic tension between Jesse and sophie is great, cast of this show is likeable except Hannah (Sid's gf). Overall, the story in the finale episode was typical, predictable but still good and that guest appearance was the best part of the finale episode.

So the biggest of the show still continues to happen, things happen too fast.
Sid wants to marry, then he doesnt and then he does it again.
Jesse and Sophie story is too fast And then since i dont feel a conection between ian and sophie, the finale lacks feeling.
But robin steel the show and charlie is by far the best character, and i didnt hate valentina.
In the future i see all the gang from himym appear to help the characters of HIMYF Barney helping Charlie since they both at some point did want children and a marry life Marshall helping Sid since they both have marry life problems Lilly helping valentina since they were both sad at one point with there workplace Ted helping Jesse since they were both at one point crazy in love with a women
Still think that the show can get much better.

A great ending

This show had been missing this. Great emotion and subtle jokes that made digesting the story easier. Although I agree that this season still hasn't catched the magic that How I Met Your Mother had, the last two episodes have definitely won them another season and another try. The twist ending with Jesse getting back together with Meredith and the return of Ian is really well done. And the writers do it wonderfully with the inclusion of Robin and her speech of timing. Seeing her back made me smile so much, especially thinking back to the original and where her character is in Ted's story at this point. It seems accurate that she prefers to be in the bar by herself than actually hanging out with the old gang. Carl's cameo was amazing too. I think this show is going to get better with time, and with now a second season with more episodes, ergo more time to flesh out the characters, it can only go up. It might just be legen-wait for it.

I was happy with small guest appearances like the Captain & Carl & the apartment but an original cast member is what we all wanted! I thought the show was only slightly going to be similar but wow it's awesome & I love Hilary Duff & I'm so glad this is happening!

I don't want to give any spoilers, but it's nearly impossible to write a review that is spoiler free if your opinion on what a spoiler is mirrors that of Frank Costanza's.
With that being said, this episode does what HIMYM did best, and that is connecting seemingly unrelated things from past and present episodes in a skillful, emotionally moving way. This episode was the first or second that truly felt like a product cut from the same silk of HIMYM, rather than a sitcom just holding on to the namesake. Fans of the original will not be disappointed, I think.
I rated this episode a 10/10. While I know that's a perfect score, I do think that there are a few jokes that weren't hilarious or didn't land quite well, but I think that as this is a laugh-track sitcom, it is assumed that not every joke will land and therefore the 10/10 is relative to other episodes in this series and other laugh-track sitcoms, and not just a general 10/10.

Without mentioning the biggest spoiler which is clear now and enough to give this episode 10/10 this gave me very good nostalgic feeling and I loved the roller coaster in the relationships I didn't see that coming especially with sidd and hannah and of course the brilliance twist in the captain and becky's story that's a really good writing!
Best episode of the series thus far.

I'll keep this simple. Amazing finale. I am definitely looking forward to season 2 now. If this episode was bad, I would have dropped this show. Fingers crossed that the writing keeps improving.
I will get downvoted for this but I have to say it again. I have not laughed once at any joke Ellen has told this season. I do not like her character. I hope they replace her or just figure out a way to phase out her character.

I've been optimistic about this show since the beginning, and it was good to see each episode being better than the last, and seeing people liking the show more and more as it went on.
We all knew though that the season finale would be the decisive factor in whether or not people were going to be looking forward to season 2.
Well I'm glad, because this season finale was not only good for How I Met your Mother's fans (for obvious reasons that I will not spoil), but also really good on it's own. The comedy was better (still not as creative as the original show's, but better), the conflicts were all interesting, and it's a great setup for season 2. Hopefully, with the extended number of episodes, season 2 will get to be more creative and explore different dynamics.
As it stands right now, I'm really excited.
Also Ellen is funny and that's a hill I will die on.

ICONIC. The season finale of HIMYF made me laught cry and scream at my screen while I was watching all the ups and lows in this group of wierdos plus the AMAZING cameo from Robin giving Sophie the advice of her life ! This show has sold me completly and I cant wait to see whats in store for S2 hope they keep growing!

The one who didn't scream or cry or after what happened doesn't deserve to be called fan of HIMYM
Beyond that, I think that 10 episodes was a little bit short to develop a plot like that with many "main characters".
Some stories felt kinda rushed, but I like it a lot these finale among being solved a bit quickly.

Despite what happens in the show. Amazing cameo by an OG HIMYM and references to a certain Pineapple Incident.
The cast is solid except for Ellen which is very unfortunate for the actress. Maybe she would be better in a different type of character or show.

As HIMYM fan, I'm a bit concern on how HIMYF will connect the dots. After a few episode, it was so cringe and forceful. And then, start at episode 8, the tension appears and the comedy not so forceful like previous episode. Then, for episode 10, Bammm, it so good and I want more.
But urm, I have a few theory regarding the future father and the Sophie's father. The future father maybe related with Marshal's son or Ted's Son. And the Sophie's father, maybe related with Barney.
So hopefully they can connect the dots and feed our hunger towards 'un-happy' ending of HIMYM by using HIMYF. Thanks.
