I enjoyed very much this excursion through the Champagne: beautiful landscapes and nice encounters.
There are some interesting aspects of the Champagne: Reims and the bicycles ( the guide Anne-Marie Bonnouvriere and the bike tour through the town-the cathedral, the colored paved street and the Fort de Mars-, Christian and Véronique Gonzalez and their bike tour along the "Voie Verte"-, the mountain bike coach Simon Rogier and the practice in the Massif de Saint-Thierry, the bicycle collector Jean-Michel Althuzer and the bike tour with old bicycles, the bicycle collection at the abbey of the "Trois Fontaines" ,the fabricant de vélo Maël Jambou -there are only 10 bicycle frame craftsmen in France-, the handyman Eric Joffres and the promotion of bicycles made with recovered bike parts at Saint-Dizier), the cellars of the "Maisons de Champagne" ( the Maison Ruinart and the oldest champagne cellar of France-the discovery of the abandoned chalk quarries-, Moët and Chandon-the bigest champagne cellars-28 kilometers and about 80 millions of champagne bottles-, the Maison Mercier with the greatest number of visitors each year, Patrice Legrand- an independent champagne producer and the Cave aux Coquillages- the cellar in calcareous rocks with a lot of fossils-), the grape harvest in Champagne ( Thierry Lutz at the Côtes des Blancs, the 20 seasonal harvesters, the harvest work, Stéphane Lutz in charge of the wine press, the banquet at the end of the harvest), the slow and quiet discovery of the Champagne ( Chantal Pinteaux and the tours with two donkeys-the Roman roads and part of the Camino de Santiago-, Ingrid Girault and this equestrian center-the horseback riding through the vineyards, Emmanuel Lenoir and the hot air ballon flights) and the women riding bicycles in Champagne ( the nurse Emmanuelle using the bicycle for her visit to the patients, the retired teacher Marine going by bicycle to the asociative bike repair workshop-where she learns and practices mechanic-, the female cyclists Marion Diringer and the promotion of the feminine cyclism).
I enjoyed the encounters of Jérôme Pitorin with the bike tour organizer Jérôme Noiret, with the sellswoman Stéphanie Dupin of the Maison Fossier at Reims, with the history professor Patrick Demouy, with Nicolas Poitevin-the Barcyclette-, with Marot Laurent, her sister Charlotte and her mother Florence at Épernay, with Monica Dumont, with Gaël Vuille and the cellar master Jean-Michel Boons at Hautvilliers, with the photographer Pascal Bourgignon at the Lac du Der, with the cooper Jérôme Viard and his associate Denis Arroman, with the champagne producer Denis and with Nathalie Meyer and brother-law-Victor at Troyes; nice encounters with very kind Champagne men and women.
