Wait....this episode didn't stink..
Racingphan24 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Last year Grey's was an abysmal slog through the Covid era, with touches of cynical social justice themes sprinkled in.

This week's season debut, however, wasn't bad.

Especially with great guest appearances like The Love Boat's Bernie Kopell, Everwood's Debra Mooney, and Corinne Bohrer from the first ER series, ( the classic half hour comedy).

Oh, add on the guy who died on every show he appears in, Peter Gallagher, and there was some humor and lightness.

Still, Meredith is written to be away from her co-stars. Do I sense some difficulty on the set?

Huh!?

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, I don't know why this gets over 7 stars. I spent the entire episode going "what!?" So many random things happened without any backstory AT ALL! It's like there's several episodes that never made it to tv. Meredith is randomly in Minnesota for the opening of a research library dedicated to her mother... what links did Ellis Grey have to Minnesota?? None. She worked in Seattle then she worked in Boston.

Through a brief one line sentence from Meredith we discover that she and Hayes had a relationship-none of which was shown on tv and came straight out of the blue, and this happens whilst she's randomly sitting opposite kidney transplant doc from who appeared in ONE episode a couple of seasons ago, and they're sitting there chatting like they've been in contact this whole time, only the viewer was literally never aware of this so it just comes across as weird on screen that Meredith keeps repeating "I'm not going to sleep with you" I've been faithful to 'Greys' for the last 17 seasons, but this episode tells me it's time to give it up.

Great start for the season! Warning: Spoilers
As long as I loved seeing old faces on the beach, I'm glad it's over! Loved this episode and can't wait to see what is Meredith going to do about "The Grey Center". Also exicited for Teddy and Owen, finally! Did I expect more from the big cameback? YES, but we're having Addison in episode 3, so I guess I'll have to wait.

NOT GOOD CANCEL IT NOW

Warning: Spoilers
First of all they are really running out of ideas and when u watch it. It feels like a kids show now like they don't cuss and have to censor what they say. Amelia telling what's his face no 2 times to get married is really a sign he fell in love with the wrong women and I partly blame him for trying to make her something she never will be. The story line is bland and they are running out of ideas shonda rhimes is on thin ice this time and season 18 probably will be the last I hope Meredith of someone dies in the last season that would be a good way to go. But please no more spin offs like station 19 or private practice. Let it die let the show have a good ending that be it because the more it goes on the worse it gets and all the characters suck ! This isn't the greys I remember.

Special Marriage
ZegMaarJus25 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Meredith, she starts her workday at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Link and Amelia are in relationship therapy together. Meredith is applying for a job in Minnesota, she can have her own lab there. Megan tells Teddy and Owen that she broke up with Nathan a couple of months ago. Father Christopher past away after surgery. Meredith got reunited with Nick in Minnesota. Teddy and Owen got marries at Joe's. Link asks Amelia again to marry with him, she says no. Solid First Episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 18, not a good start of the Season. There were no exciting moments what i am looking for now!

I think this show was ending from season 16 , the cast not good like the old cast and I feel weird when I saw , feel like it's not the same show. And Meredith doesn't show up a lot, the story going very bad.

Really pushing at this point
Pickleman741 October 2021
I can tell this is headed towards the end by what they're pushing. This is long overdue. This show went from relationships and medicine and went straight into politics and checking off diversity quotas. It's a shell of its formal self.

I won't be watching anymore.
greenhavenall1 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I am dropping This show for the same reason I gave up on "The Good Doctor" ... Because it took the easy route, became a complete Fantasy and is now pretending Covid-19 is over instead of continuing to show the ongoing effects it has on our society. This doesn't make good television or good story telling. It makes you as bad as trump, a Liar who ignored the danger and manipulated the public for his own gain.

Really?
ncarolines8 August 2022
Stating it's fictional? Really? Oh dear god. And that right there is why season 17 was so annoying.

Back to "oh this ordinary thing is so boring". Life goes on, sure, but still.

Keeping up where they left with touching on all small stereotypes possible to dig up.
