  Pat Dugan : I know. Eclipso hasn't made a move.

  Courtney Whitmore : No, the Staff, I mean. It's getting better, but it's still so weak. It may have hurt Eclipso, but he hurt it right back. He killed Cindy and Isaac right in front of us. And maybe the Shade, too.

  Pat Dugan : Nothing in the news since then. No deaths, no disappearances.

  Courtney Whitmore : Nothing reported, but how do we really know? I mean... he could've left Blue Valley.

  Pat Dugan : But the weather's only gotten worse.

  Courtney Whitmore : Then why is he still here? He escaped the black diamond, so what does he want now? What could Blue Valley mean to someone like Eclipso?

  Pat Dugan : Whatever the reason, I know it's not good.

• Pat Dugan : [finding Mike freaking out]  What is it?

  Mike Dugan : There was leeches. There was leeches. There was leeches, um, on... my arm.

  Pat Dugan : It's okay.

  [seeing an open handkerchief on the table holding shards of the black diamond] 

  Pat Dugan : [closing it]  Hey... don't touch those. Ever. All right?

  Mike Dugan : Why do you still have them?

  Pat Dugan : The diamond was Eclipso's only weakness before. And I'm hoping it still is.

• Pat Dugan : [looking at what's left of S.T.R.I.P.E]  Boy, they really did a number on him, huh?

  Mike Dugan : Hey, don't worry about it. We'll get this bad boy back in shape, huh? Now that you brought me aboard the giant robot train after I almost died. Where do you want to start first? The fists? The flamethrower? I had this killer idea that I was thinking about for-for a drill where we could put it on the left side and...

  Pat Dugan : Okay, we'll start with lug nuts.

  [handing Mike a bucket, it's too heavy for him and thuds to the ground] 

  Mike Dugan : There's a lot of lug nuts in there.

  Pat Dugan : Welcome to JSA training. Lesson 101, the importance of patience.

  Mike Dugan : How have you stomped the fun out of this already?

  Pat Dugan : [seeing one of S.T.R.I.P.E.'s hands with the fingers folded like devil's horns]  Did you do that or did they?

• Mike Dugan : [trying to loosen one of S.T.R.I.P.E.'s lug nugs]  By the time I'm done with this, it won't be Eclipso that kills us. It's gonna be old age.

  Pat Dugan : Well, the thing is, most of the time, this job, it's about working twice as hard on the tedious tasks, just making sure that everything's prepared for when it's needed, okay? And until Eclipso's found, being prepared, it's the only thing we can do. And it's, uh, lefty loosey, righty tighty, okay?

  Mike Dugan : Why don't you just do it?

  Pat Dugan : No, you wanted to learn. That's great, okay? Wax on, wax off.

  Mike Dugan : We gotta wax this thing, too?
