So far the shows been pretty good but this episode might be the launching point of even better episodes. You can feel the momentum catching on as the Lakers are finally shaping up as the team we remember them by.

THE SHOW THAT MAKES ME WANT TO BE THERE
Geekofriendly28 March 2022
John C. Reilly was born to play this part. This series could easily be called "The Jerry Buss show", but it's also stuffed to the brim with likeable characters with their own real-life arcs. If they're staying true to these people's actual traits at least 50% of the time, this is the most fun you'll currently have on TV. Guaranteed!

I'm rooting for Jerry Buss, Magic, and the L. A. Lakers to succeed!.

Ooooh, the journey is supremely satisfying.

Drama filled episode as the Lakers go thru training camp!
blanbrn2 April 2022
In episode 4 of "HBO's" "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty" series is one good entertaining drama filled episode. In 1979 the "L. A. Lakers" are going to training camp in Palm Springs, and things seem tough and quite different with new head coach Jack McKinney's style. The acting and chemistry of the episode made it a joy to watch as owner Jerry Buss(the great John C. Reilly) continues to have big plans and dreams for his franchise. Another well done entertaining episode of the series that has me hooked as I will continue to watch the rise of the "Lakers" as it's nice to see them grow and shape into winners!

Who... Is Jack McKinney
Prismark103 May 2022
Winning Lines has found an extra gear in episode 3. It started to concentrate on the basketball more.

It does not mean the writing can be clumsy. This episode opens with young Jeanie catching her father playing with a young woman in a restaurant.

Later Jerry Buss shifts through Polaroids of his conquests. We already know he is a womaniser and knows what kind of women he likes.

Some of the intimate scenes was superfluous. Only because it leads to sexier cheerleaders for the LA Lakers. You would think up until then cheerleader dressed like sunday school teachers.

The interesting part of the story was new coach Jack McKinney instilling his new methods to a sceptical LA Lakers team.

Magic Johnson excels at this faster freewheeling style of play. Others are reluctant as it shows their lack of fitness.

There is no doubt that Winning Teams is leviating now. It has started to score points with rapidity and getting to be a better show.
