Play to movie transition of The Stronger
adaringdo-16 September 2009
This video production and adaptation of a short play is well acted and creatively done. The project completed with the help of a private grant of $1,000 has gone far beyond what one would think such a low budget video could produce. Lacking the flash and bang of modern films this presentation looks back to a simpler time when dialog carried the bulk of the presentation.

This video presents an informal battle of words between two women. Unaware there is a conflict, the first woman talks to a friend who never responds back with a single word. The second woman conveys her thoughts by facial expression and minor movement as she sits at a table in a coffee house. With the progression of the one sided conversation the first woman comes to realize the tangled web of past events and how it has affected her present situation.

You don't see many short films like this. It is an interesting study in not only the attitudes of the past but in the technique of presentation used by many old masters of the stage.
