What's up with Ernie's hair?
slepore2930 December 2022
Has the series gone downhill over the years? Yes, maybe a little bit, but the real question is whether they gave Ernie a wig or is it his real hair this season. The part moved and the color seems different as well. I realize as a teenager his style may change as he gets older, but this just seems too drastic.

At least they are now dressing Dodie in pants instead of bloomers. That look was horrible over the last few seasons and made her look even younger than she was supposed to be.

They jumped the shark when Dodie and Barbara were added, but Ernie's hair is addition food for the shark now. Ha!

Last Season on Its Last Legs

In the past (Steve Douglas) MacMurray is willing to put on a cat costume, dress up as an old-fashioned Little Lord Fauntleroy in a dream sequence, etc., but he can't manage a Scottish brogue and has to be dubbed. Of course, the series is tired and resorting to desperation by this time.

The toddler triplet boys are always immaculate, dressed, seldom seen: usually "taking a nap." Mom Katie (Tina Cole) is always coifed and made up, her house spotless (until they moved in with the Douglases as Don Brady has left the series (Robbie took a job in Peru), but fortunately all there is to do in the Douglas house is dry dishes, put towels away while Uncle Charley plays the cello.

Weird To Say The Least

Maybe the worst episode in the entire series. Fred MacMurray plays two roles; that of his character Steve and that of his Scottish cousin. As his cousin, he is dubbed in by another actor. MacMurray's acting is stiff and void of any expression. Really a terrible performance in a ridiculous storyline.
