Have To Wait A WHOLE Week?!
jimsweezey1 December 2021
Worst part about this episode is having to wait a whole week to see where it goes from here. Haven't like a new show this much in a while. Show is off to a great start!

Starting to get better

Kinda make sense now. Not only that, there's a low of stories to catch up with different time zones. And they're all good except one which i wont mention.

Oh, my life is changing everyday

The girls go swimming, and it's good to be the last man standing. This episode is middling for me, not the worst episode of the season, but towards the bottom. Poor Coach.... Poor Travis...

Taissa is the least compelling character in the present day storyline, for me. In the past, she holds her own, but in the present, her character is boring. Not for the lack of ability on Tawny Cypress's part, she is an excellent actress. She also has great plotlines and is the most diverse character. Not sure why, for better or worse, outside of a few shocking moments, her character struggles.

Episode 3

This show is certainly interesting, but it can't find the right balance between the past and present. The story in either dimension or timeline doesn't hit as hard as it would if we had one episode focused solely.

Can it keep the momentum going?
mycannonball15 January 2022
I am questioning a bit if this show will be able to retain my attention and keep momentum going when the format is essentially that we know who they were before (for the most part) and we know who they are after (for the most part), so we're just waiting to find out what happens in the middle (The Lord of the Flies stuff!). I feel like this story may have been served better in terms of suspense if it'd been linear. Yet I also find the 20+ years later adult storyline to be good. Perhaps it's the flashbacks to pre-plane wreck that are dragging a bit for me? The jury is still out.

[6.5] The constant switching between past and present doesn't do good
cjonesas17 January 2022
Episode 3: More development and the usual flashbacks. Starting to drag and slide to the negative and "uninteresting" plate of the balance. IMO, adding fabrics of "supernatural/mystical" stuff to the storylines and plots is a mistake.

An accident happened to a group of humans with most things being clear. Please, keep it that way or else, we'd have the feeling that some/most of us have in sensing dragging and milking. Also, step up the drama factor in the present time for the group of stranded people.

The constant switching between past and present does not do good and only serves to fill up the runtime of the episodes without actual thrill, suspense and real drama.

The more I see the less I care (in certain parts)

Warning: Spoilers
Okay so the openings are a good part of this show. We open with the funeral of those deceased by the crash and then we follow the timelines of post-crash and present day. Post-crash, 3 days after the event, the group find a lake which in their excitement, without caution, they jump around in, swim and have fun. This brings discomfort to our leader Jackie as she is opposed to leaving the crash site in case of rescuers incoming. It seems here that she's more irked by not being the one to call the shots. They then find a small, abandoned house where they spend the night with the knowledge there are potentially wolves prowling around after seeing a bear with its' guts out.

Now this is narrative is more focussed on Taissa and her past, present and future to do with supernatural beings. I'm not too sure how I feel about them introducing a supernatural element to the show - I came into the show expecting a Lord of the Flies sort of deterioration, but this is the direction and for the most part it just isn't done well. Tailing off the cringy "Sammy, Sammy, Sammy" from ep 2, we see Sammy back again with the stone-faced dialogue and creepiness. It just gives off more of a cringy vibe than creepy. I do hope if they continue with this, they add some more emotion to it because it just isn't working. However, the horror element in the house post crash definitely amplified a sense of tension and creep so they know how to do it but just not properly. The acting post-crash is great by all. You feel a sense of inner conflict between each character.

In present day we follow Shauna tailing her husband with the suspicion of an affair taking place which leads to her getting on more with the mechanic Adam and Natalie and Misty follow their leads in trying to find Travis. The acting with the latter characters was okay, present day Natalie just walks around expressionless and from this and the lack of investment I have in her character, I felt nothing for her emotions with the death of Travis.

This episode still maintains the mystery angle in all ways: Who is this being that's haunting Taissa? How did Travis actually die? I couldn't care less for Shauna's narrative, although it did provide the lighter hearted moments of the ep. The biggest question I have is: When will we start seeing them delve into insanity on what to do next? Get to the points we saw in ep 1. I know we are only 3 eps in but I'm trying to find the hints now.

Overall, the episode brings more questions we want answered which is great but as we see more and get to know these characters, the more immersion is breaking for me due to the acting.

P. S. Seems Misty just enjoys pulling wires out.

P. P. S. Third review in a row but it deserves it, I'm really digging the soundtrack.

Warning: Spoilers
Did the writer win a competition? This is so boring. Why do we need the supernatural element? It adds nothing to the piece. This show is a badly written cartoon.

Amazing animal death
mamasscc11 May 2023
So when I started watching this, I had no idea that it would be so amazing to watch and that every single episode will have a dead animal scene. I wonder what the woman that created this thought. I'm gonna have a scene of a dead animal in episode three. Because it's so edgy and scary! It will make the viewer so scared and it's so great to see a dead animal nowadays. Great job, keep up the good work and I hope to see another dead animal in episode 4, I'm looking forward to it and I'll probably kill a rabbit in t he garden today or a dog just for fun. Thanks again, really great show, I have no words!
