When you put various textures of excrement from a variety of animals, creatures and humans... into a very shiny bucket.

Firstly, if anyone can even reach the midpoint without fast-forwarding, you are a champ. No normal or sane person can sit through the entire 2 hours of this nonsense.

This is director, producer, editor, actor etc... Ali Pourahmad's first attempt at filmmaking, and I think he should change hobbies. What you will notice in the description of this (for the lack of a better word) "film", is that there's no writing credit. That's because there is no story in the painstaking 2 hour long runtime. Pourahmad should also remove his name from Editor, as I saw zero editing. Had there been any, this nonsense should have had 75% of the runtime cut out, and left with a short visually stunning music video.

Almost every scene is ridiculously long and mostly unnecessary with zero narrative. The dialogue is the absolute worst I have ever heard, that you will either cringe or die of laughter. The acting is like a dad from the 80's forcing his family to say something, anything, for the VHS camcorder he just purchased. And most of the filming and sound seems from the 80's as well. In some scenes with multiple (for the lack of a better word) "actors", one or two out of the three in a scene are blurred so bad, I'm certain they were green-screened in using 80's GS technology.

In the beginning, you will feel like you're watching your skilless gamer friend playing the original PC game Doom. Just a lot of random scenes and a lot of walking around all over the place for nothing. Then all of a sudden BOOM!, an alien will appear just waving its tentacles around for about 5 minutes. Then some random robots just looking at a screen pressing buttons for 5 minutes, again, nothing being narrated and zero dialogue. Then a bunch of soldiers walking around aimlessly inside a ship taking turns who will lead the walking, blurting lame dialogue. Pourahmad should also remove his name as director, as there was zero direction to the scenes or storyline, and zero direction to any cast member.

So what we have here, it seems, is an older sci-fi failed short movie, a presentation of a students old 90's CGI talents, a presentation of a freshly graduated CG-VFX student, and recent video clips of impressive model and set designs - randomly chopped and tapped together, and played out for 2 hours, with an impressive score. As a huge fan of sci-fi, and a sucker for stunning visuals and set designs, once I made it to just before the 1 hour mark (yes, I was that patient waiting for something to happen), all I did was ffwd to all the epic and stunning visuals of spacecrafts and robot scenes, viewing them in awe with the awesome fitting score. If I have time, I may just clip out all those breathtaking elements, edit them together for maybe 30-40 mins of viewing, and simply enjoy the eye candy and awesome score, or mute the volume and play my favorite melodic electronic music in the background.

I'd even go as far to say the better HQ visuals were some of the best I've ever seen, and should be submitted for awards consideration to whoever created them. Those stunning and breathtaking visuals are the only reason I'm giving this film a generous 3/10, otherwise even a 1 would be too generous for this nonsense. I mean even the title is grammatically incorrect - maybe needed an apostrophe?

Is it the work of a student team?
gregorytest23 December 2021
I put two stars because all work deserves to be rewarded, but it is the work of a student team?

I invite anyone to watch this 2hrs film without dominating or skipping moments to comment, to explain why and explain to us how!

WHAT are these people doing?!?!
derek-a-charette10015 December 2021
The alien invasion niche of the Sci-Fi genre is flooded with REALLY BAD, horrible movies. I never have my expectations set very high to begin with, but this was even worse than I imagined possible!

In the beginning, the CGI had a few promising moments, nearly on par with what the Russians are doing using massive banks of computers that process CGI scenes 24/7 for months to get very realistic, fantastic, stunning CGI...

...but I assure you, they were very short-lived scenes. Watching a bizarre scene of cars and buildings that was rendered with what appears to be 1990's video game animation technology was extremely confusing, and really bad, but I thought that some of the opening visuals were actually kind of decent, so I kept watching.

Then I started skipping ahead to see if there was anything worth watching in the TWO HOURS ahead. Every scene I landed on was either this chick talking to the dude, aliens walking around like idiots with the same annoying grunting sound over and over and over again, or the NaSA 'troop's with NaSA patches on their uni's, wearing motocross face coverings covered with black spray paint. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!

It was when I saw the aliens that I knew the film was doomed, and luckily the aliens are revealed almost immediately. The second I saw the aliens FULL of tentacles, I knew it was game over. The movie had no chance of being even somewhat decent. I was correct.

As many people know, tentacles are the WORST nightmare for anyone that does CGI visual effects. Not only do animators despise tentacles, we, the viewers, despise tentacled aliens. We are getting annoyed with the same ideas that have been rehashed over and over for the past 3 decades since Independence Day.

Speaking of Independence Day, I am going to watch it again, for the 200th time, to hopefully stop the rapid loss of brain cells that this abomination of a movie... ''Alien Reaction'' has caused me. Anyone that can make it 30 minutes into this movie without skipping, you are a champion. And anyone who actually watched this whole movie without skipping, you are either abusing the hardcore drugs, or you need to get checked out by the local psych ward.

My God, even the title of this movie is mindless.

I've never seen such looooong scenes in a movie
ArchFrenemy26 January 2022
This movie had so much wrong with it. It was filled with some great videogame-like visuals, which were in some ways reminiscent of "2001: A Space Odyssey"(yep!) but suffered from terrible sound editing and a disjointed, incomprehensible story. It is as if this was some fan film, and the fans cast themselves as "stars." So bad.

I listened with my excellent headphones on and even then, much dialogue was garbled and muffled. I can't say much about the plot, because it was all over the place as well. I kept asking myself, Who exactly is who - and what is everyone's motive?

Running at a whopping two hours long, the film is plagued with scenes that go on and on and on waaaaay too long--and I don't just mean a couple of scenes, either. I mean nearly all of them. Fixing that alone could have pared down the runtime by at least 35-40 minutes IMO.

Oh well. I warned you. Watch if you must....:-/

Plot anyone?
cfmatson14 October 2021
Technically gorgeous.

Good acting.

Intense action.

Very minimal script.

Plot is defend Earth?

Mysterious ending.

Love Sci-Fi for many decades and can decipher most stories, no matter how vague.

This one has me puzzled as to the final outcome. Still working on it and watching the final scenes repeatedly.
