An answer to one of my questions is given.

Warning: Spoilers
Since Royal got pushed in the hole in ep 1 and then later woke up on his surrounding grounds at the start of ep 2 I kept thinking wouldn't the same thing happen to Trevor? Well, we get an answer to that question here, and the answer is yes. The same thing happened and he WAS found.

And if Royal already returned, then why even throw the belt buckle in the hole, because in theory its going to turn up somewhere in the vicinity soon enough.

I can only assume that the episode 2 cliffhanger was where he landed after he went in the hole (the future, as he also told Autumn), so maybe he thought the body and buckle wouldn't 'turn up' for several years. If that's the case, someone must have put Trevor back in the hole (in either the future or past) and made him return to the present.

Anyway, its fun to theorize.

I also liked the interaction with the thief and the Sherriff in the cop car. He comes off as a crack pot to her, but because we know things, it ends up being more unsettling. Not to mention the mountain incident. That was very well done.

Billy continues to be weird and creepy. I'm already worried for that little girl. And Rhett getting a good portion of the ep was welcome.

Writing still strong but cinematography is off

It's still a show I'm more invested in then many other newer shows. But. The dim lighting they are using is almost making it unwatchable. I have tried on two different LG OLED TV's and it just does not look good. It's like the Han Solo movie, super dim and poorly lit.

Indifference: Strongest Force in the Universe

A limping tortoise with no substance, something of a 'filler' episode. There are some strange goings on witnessed by several people and Sheriff Joy looks into Trevor's disappearance.

A disappointing instalment following the fine start.

Drew me in!

The actors are excellent. I feel attached to the characters and have been thinking about them all day! Their interactions are moving and powerful, especially between Autumn and Royal and Autumn and Perry. Everyone has depth and that's what makes the show so compelling for me to watch.

I watched the first 3 episodes straight through and then it was 2:00 am and even though I wanted to keep watching, I had to get to bed! Can't wait to watch more tonight!

Warning: Spoilers
Three episodes in and I am not impressed. Subpar writing and acting depending on stereotypes rather than complex characterization. There's a mystery with enough clues to keep us watching, but depending on a plot that's not particularly unique or original is no way to attract and keep viewers. There is such a thing as too many subplots superficially explored as opposed to deeper, intricate plots. And why don't these ranchers ever actually do ranch work?

[6.8] Truth, lies and poems

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 3: The mishmash continues with its third episode. Lots of scenes and conversations. Like "guirlande" decorations.

Nothing really compelling as of yet and that is indeed weak. Even what they show us as wanting to be mysterious or thrilling, is not.

The main problem to that are the soporific storylines, average CGI and snoozy direction. Everyone looks like on various doses of Valium, besides (Amy) Olive Abercrombie's natural and sharp acting.

First two episodes were decent. But this one was super dull. The sons aren't very good actors. And why is that nobody else in the family except for Josh Brolin has seen the hole?? None of the other family members walk the property??
