Nothing but conspiracy theories
PeaceAndLongLife21 August 2015
I saw this on the History Channel. What a joke. The title suggests that this would be a show where we might learn a little about the private lives of the Founding Fathers and some of their imperfections. But this is nothing but a show for Masonic conspiracy theorists to present their lunatic beliefs. Little time is given for any "naysayers." The narrator sounds like a firm believer in these crazy ideas rather than a neutral observer.

Ralph Epperson, one of the regular conspiracy theorists on this show, has his own web site. He's been ranting this nonsense for decades. He makes it sound like the U.S. Constitution is part of a "Satanic, Masonic" plot of world domination.

Three tenets of any conspiracy theory are: (1) nothing is what it appears to be; (2) nothing happens by accident; and (3) everything's connected. Also, if you question the theory, theorists will probably say you're part of it.

The History Channel used to have a pretty good record of presenting both sides of an issue. But in shows like the ones on UFOs, Nostradamus and predictions of "armageddon," and this one, there is no balance. Nonbelievers are given hardly any time.

2017 update: 35 people have managed to increase this shows star rating to 6.9, but no one except me has written a review.

MAY HAVE
simonkentondm16 April 2024
The favorite words of the people making this documentary would have to be the words May Have. If you're looking for a documentary talking about symbols of Masonry that appear in some of our government documents and buildings you might want to watch this, if you haven't already seen many other documentaries showing the same thing. We know that many of our leading founding fathers were Masons most of the movie is made up of people bringing forth possible symbols of Masonry and giving them some kind of suspicious meaning. The other part of the movie is other people showing how the first people came to the wrong conclusions. Might be a fun movie to watch if you're bored it's no real history lesson there are no real Secrets Revealed.

It's a joke.

This show gives minimal information about the founding fathers and gives more misconception opinions. They spin it as the founding fathers were actually wicked drunk druggie sex craved addicts. Everyone has the right to their opinion but a historical documentary has more than one sided opinions. Like the other review states, this is more like the extraterrestrial shows that has great speculations with minimal facts. It is more of a fiction than non-fiction that it is stated. It also states that the United States of America is a democracy and not a Republic that it actually is. Just needs to be taken for what it truly is. Somebody's opinion to try to make other people look bad.
