Trivia

The Mickens' address, as seen on the piece of mail addressed to Mrs. Melinda Mickens (J. Smith-Cameron) that Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) takes out of their mailbox toward the end of this episode: "10646 River Street Magnolia, AR 71754" See more »

Goofs

The stripper character, Yvetta, played by Natasha Alam, who is Uzbek/Russian, is introduced by Eric as being from Estonia. While it is possible that a Russian could be from Estonia, it is unlikely that she would identify as Estonian. Estonia is not in Russia but was in the former Soviet Union so many Russians continue to live there; however, they speak a totally different language and are very different in most ways. Unlike the actress' native Uzbekistan which continues to be dominated by Russian culture and language, Estonia is very much a place where people identify as Estonian and speak that language. Bill Compton: That doesn't matter... what's your name?

Bill Compton: That's a lovely name. Now listen, Olivia. I was never here tonight. You will not remember what I've done to you.
Olivia: What did you do to me?
Bill Compton: [smiling] Good girl. Now before I go, can you tell me where I am?
Olivia: In my house.
Bill Compton: And what parish do you live in?
Olivia: I live in Copiah county.
Bill Compton: [alarmed] Mississippi?

For the person who ''gave up on True Blood'' halfway through Season 1, why are you even putting your two cents in? You said there should be action and there should be this and that. Um. It was the first episode. Can't much happen there that leads into the entire season. If you've read the book series (and I'm guessing that you haven't) you would know what this season is based around. And common sense should tell you that they can't include every single aspect of action/mystery into the first hour. We have 3 more months to get to the conclusion. Let it ride. I thoroughly enjoyed the premiere. It was one that proved that season 3 was going to be crazy and exciting!
