Didn't know it was an anthology to start this off
dougjmaggi15 May 2022
Yeah, so first off, neither the synopsis nor the video trailer said this was an anthology, which might be how they get people to actually watch it since most if not all horror anthologies really aren't done well enough to get someone to watch the whole thing. This one is no different, and I wouldn't have finished it if I wasn't "watching" it while playing mobile games and browsing the internet at the same time.

The stories don't seem to have any common connection beyond how people can be cruel. The only bit that really would fit into a horror movie would be the burnt guy from the trailer, so if you've watched that, then you've seen all the scary bits that the film had. The acting was mediocre, except for the nurse who was horrible. I honestly don't know what this was supposed to be about, if it even had a story behind it.

This isn't horror, I'm not sure what it is, but it isn't that... Maybe some art student can contrive some far fetched idea what the artist wanted it to be like people do with modern art. Time is better spent rewatching Kitchen nightmares as that's scarier than this by far.

An Unexpected Horror Anthology
RiskeyD28 June 2022
There's nothing as disconcerting as going on IMDB for a little illumination on what you just watched to find "I only watched for six minutes. Don't waste your time," or "It only played to the end cause I was reading." In other words, you felt compelled to review a film you haven't seen. Some people must really like to see their names in print. That said, it took me a bit to realize that this was an anthology. I think that was because they aren't so much complete stories as they are vignettes. The closest to a complete tale is the one about the metal-head chicks attending a rock festival and staying in a rental house. And maybe the one about the girl getting her first period. Anyway, the stories piqued my interest at some points, lost my attention at others, but overall provided me with some unsettling moments and some gruesome imagery, which is all I require for a direct-to-video horror flick. I look forward to these filmmakers' future works, hopefully staying within the horror genre, as it's fertile ground for innovation. Some of these vignettes could be exapanded into full-length features, such as the one about the old man collapsing at the train station.

Independent Anthology Horror
spookyastronauts14 May 2022
It's not a bad film, not a great film.

But the reviews saying it bounces around may miss the fact it's an anthology horror?

If you go in knowing that it's an independent film that's a bunch of short stories, it will make a lot more sense.

Anthology horrors seem to be only as strong as their weakest story, but they do allow for fun and unique punch lines. It's a good way for independent filmmakers to promote their stylization and ideas to potential investors and for future films. We have seen this happen with many films like Terrifier. Hope to see bigger and more polished work come from some of these creatives.

Although not the best use of your time, you are watching horror build itself authentically from the ground up, and most importantly filmmakers that actually LIKE horror do so.

UNWATCHABLE FAKE RATINGS
secretsphantom12 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie starts off confusing the viewer by showing a scene from and old man in a train station who are suffering from evil flashbacks, then jumps to a scene with a girl working in a hospital, then jumps to a scene with 3 girls on a road trip. And this all happens in the first 8 minutes of the movie ,and EXTREMELY bad acting. Turned off the movie already knew that this movie is going to be a total mess. Don't waste your time.

Pointless and uneventful...

Ugh, this 2021 horror anthology "The Devil's Tail" was brutal. And not in a good way brutal. Nay, this movie was just a swing and a miss from writers Mauro Croche and Taz Pereyra.

First of all, I didn't know that it was an anthology when I sat down to watch "The Devil's Tail", so the storyline made zero sense as things seemed very random and just change from one scenery and story to another in the blink of an eye. Normally, I am not overly keen on horror anthologies as they tend to be dubious at best.

But I continued on watching "The Devil's Tail", even after figuring out that it was indeed an anthology. But the stories just didn't have all that much appeal or punch, so it was a very bland and prolonged experience to sit through this movie from directors Nicole Goode, Carlota Pereda and Taz Pereyra.

Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble that participated in the making of "The Devil's Tail". But since they virtually had nothing solid or interesting to work with from the script and storyline, then the performances just never found a footing, and it was a drag to sit through.

For a horror anthology then "The Devil's Tail" was bad, not just dubious, but downright bad. And this is not an anthology I would recommend you waste your time, money or effort on. The best part about "The Devil's Tail" was actually the movie's cover.

My rating of "The Devil's Tail" lands on a two out of ten stars.

Why is this billed as one story line?
shoprund20 July 2022
An hour thirty minutes of my life I can't get back. This movie is billed as a single story but after spending 45 minutes confused, I realized there won't be any cohesion in this anthology. If I didn't spend $5.99 to watch this travesty, I would have shut it off. A truly horribly done wreck.

An anthology of Garbage
stevendkaplan30 July 2023
This movie not only fails to tell you it's gonna be an anthology in the description but the overarching frame story of the hospital isn't good and bares next to no actual connection to the other included stories. I think maybe the people in the stories might be patients of the hospital but I'm not even sure. In any event the stories suck, have a hint of a feminist undertone and a major dollop of "people are cruel", and the only vaguely scary bit is the burned ghost guy on the poster who is only in the movie for maybe 5 minutes. It also has an ending that I think is supposed to be a twist but just comes off as confusing and bland. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

What a Let Down
pinkiepink-2515013 July 2022
The 1st scene was great,I thought this was setting the tone for the entire Movie. BEWARE<NOOO,,It was different vignettes,After the first 6 minutes this became UNWATCHABLE!! Totally ridiculous, what was that thingy on the floor! Listen friends, I have been trained for 50 years to critique Movies,STAY away from this ABOMINATION!! I was actually embarassed for who ever filmed this JUNK!! OH I watched 15 minutes of this for free on a channel we all love. I was actually shocked to find it. But even FREE I turned it off. The older gent in the 1st 6 minutes was awesome after that bathroom scene, TURN IT OFF!!

He disappeared
nogodnomasters25 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is an anthology of horror stories that has a hospital as a conduit to the stories. The tales are odd and really lack proper closure. A nurse is told a story about Mr. Moore, a burn patient who disappeared one night. That is the main feature they always come back to. The stories made one feel uncomfortable more than scared. A young girl teased about her period. A heavy girl in a bikini is bullied.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Not that bad
nicci19728 October 2023
I'm glad I gave this a chance. The synopsis serves it no justice as many have pointed out this is an anthology with no wrap around storylines. I like anthologies because even though the acting and budget may be low the plots can be unique. I can see how each one could be extended (like one already has been). Reformed could be an interesting movie. Although it did well as a short. The exception would be What Metal Chicks Like. Lol that was good but no expansion could be made. They proved their point. The title story we have seem before but I thought it was good despite the one nurse acting like a complete weirdo. I liked it. This my 6.
