Susan Hampshire in Kong

The highlight of this "M&W" episode is the "Ernie Wise" play "The Mighty Kong."

While not as rib-tickling as "Kitten Kong" that appeared on "The Goodies" about fifteen months earlier, "The Mighty Kong" has one positive attribute: the lovely Susan Hampshire.

Looking barely a day older than her appearances on "Secret Agent," Hampshire throws herself into the silly play with such aplomb one wonders why she didn't get invited to do more comedy. In her pre-play appearance she cracks up a bit, but that might be planned, as well. In the play she's suitably earnest (unlike, say, earlier guest star Juliet Mills in her play).

The rest of the episode is mostly the typical M&W comedy sketches and early 1970s soft-rock classics.

I don't care for the play's ending, but M&W were always prey to Brit post-sexual revolution smut.
