Indian star Karthik Sivakumar, known by his screen name Karthi, is bullish about upcoming release “Japan,” his 25th film.
The film is due to release in November during the Deepavali holiday frame in Tamil, Telugu and a few other languages. “It’s a crime thriller, it’s got a manhunt to it. But apart from that, the writing and characters in the film are so well-rooted, and at the same time, it’s got a lot of flamboyance – it’s a very unique combination,” Karthi told Variety.
The film, from prolific south Indian studio Dream Warrior Pictures, is directed by Raju Murugan. “Being so grounded and yet having the flamboyance and the cockiness of this character is what got me hooked to the project, and the keenness to work with Raju Murugan – I’ve liked his earlier two films ‘Cuckoo’ and ‘Joker’ and his understanding of local community, the culture here,...

Tamil film superstar Suriya is back for the first time since the disastrous Singam 2 with a new film directed by N. Lingusamy titled Anjaan. Normally, this information on its own would be enough to get my excited. Suriya is a major talent in search of the right role, which he has managed to avoid landing over the last five years. There's no guarantee that Anjaan (which translates to Fearless in English) will be the performance that gives him the credit he is due, but there are a couple of helpful circumstances that stand to give him a better chance than usual.Anjaan's director, Lingusamy, has at least two decent pictures under his belt, 2010's Paiyaa, and 2011's Vettai. Now, Suriya has worked with high profile...

Karthi’s career is going strong as all his films have been doing a great business. With his ‘Paiyaa’ fetching some good collections at box office, the actor is getting ready for the release of his next film ‘Naan Mahan Alla’. Produced by Studio Green Films, the rights have been acquired by Dayanidhi Azhagiri. They had previously acquired Karthi’s ‘Paiyaa’.
The film has Kajal Agarwal in female lead role and Jayaprakash of ‘Pasanga’, ‘Nadodigal’ fame plays his father’s role. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been waved a great success with Karthi in his past two films ‘Paruthiveeran’ and ‘Paiyaa’. This time, Yuvan Shankar Raja is so confident that the songs will overshadow their previous shows.
If what we heard from the closer sources is believed to be true, then the film’s audio will be launched on July 5 without any formal music release functions.

It looks like Karthi has a special relationship with Thamannah as he cannot stop singing praises about her no all aspects.Recently, Karthi while speaking to the media said,” After coming to cinema, I have applied, make up for Paiyya. I did touch up intermittently. I use to style my hair. I drank lot of juice. I was on diet. I did work outs.
To become a handsome hero I took lot of efforts. When I am in my friends circle, no girl will notice me. But after Paiyya I got lot of girl fans. I am getting lot of appreciation from them. Somehow girls have started liking me. With regard to Thamanna’s color I should say that I have seen Kareena Kapoor in the sets when I was working as an assistant to Manirathnam for the film Yuva. But Thamanna was fairer than her. The first time I saw Thamanna,...

Gautaman BhaskaranFilm: PaiyyaCast: Karthi, Tamannaah and Milind SomanDirection: N. LingusamyRating: ** The Tamil film, Paiyya could have been a delightful spin, a breezy romance. But N. Lingusamy, who has written and directed it, appears to have got caught in a 1970s time warp, where a hero, among other things, singlehandedly vanquished his foes. And in Paiyya, Karthi (remember his riveting performance in Paruthiveeran?) playing Shiva does not even need a simple rod to overpower and maim dozens of goons led by two “leaders”. One of them ...

From the maker of ‘Anandam’, ‘Run’, ‘Ji’, ‘Sandakozhi’ and ‘Bheema’, here comes a disappointing film ‘Paiyya’ that in no way holds a special mention for its clichéd storyline and narration. The film isn’t nowhere different from Lingusamy’s previous films’ plots –say –Run and Sandakozhi as you can find the similarities with an ease.
The film opens well with an entertaining approach, but literally sets itself on contrastive grounds during the second half. When Vijayakanth, Sarath Kumar, Arjun and Vijay rolled down the hefty henchmen at the same time at various Indian States, Karthi too joins this bandwagon.
Doubtlessly, he’ll be one amongst them if he continues performing fight sequences of not getting hurt at any point of time.

Thamanna while speaking to the media said,” I have completed the films Sura, Thillangadi and Paiyya. Next I am pairing with Dhanush in a film directed by Hari and another film with Karthi directed by Shiva. The shooting of these films are to commence soon. I am also pairing with Allu Arjun in a Telugu film Badrinath directed by V V Vinayak.
Apart from this I am acting in a Telugu film with Naga Chaitanya and a film directed by Sukumar. I will be concentrating in Tamil and Telugu films only. For time being I have no intention of acting in Hindi films. I will be able to act in 4 or 5 films per year. I have that many commitments. Though I act in commercial roles, I am bringing out my acting skills. I am doing this right from the beginning.”...
