Unlike Earth, Venus does not experience plate tectonics. This is important because this phenomenon is important for keeping the Earth's climate stable and habitable. But based on volcanic activity and deformations on the surface it appears Venus does have some geological activity. Several probes are in the planning stage to investigate.—David Foss
