It's a good story.

A gangster father and son have moved into Gene's patch, and he's not happy.

A more typical episode than we've had so far this series, with shootouts, bearings, crashes, and an altogether more gung ho feel.

Very good, intriguing, entertaining, and featuring a real twist. Not the ending I expected, or saw coming.

Just who is Keats? Daniel Mays was excellent here, I find his character so intriguing. The beautiful Zoe Telford was terrific here, I am a fan of hers.

Entertaining 7/10.

Business As Usual

A strong episode with a good storyline, humour as well music and musical references of the era. Things are starting to move towards the series culmination as well as a good episode plot. A bonus point for the Men At Work reference and Keeley's shoes.

Warning: Spoilers
The writers of 'Ashes' seem to be stacking up an awful lot of questions in series 3, on top of the "will Alex get home?" one that has been with us from the start. My only hope is that they will give themselves enough time (and episodes) to answer them all.

It's another good episode, perhaps a bit thin on plot, but makes up for it by this time giving the character of Chris the chance to be more than just a stereotype.

'Ashes' again makes for fascinating viewing.
