Entry for the Tongues on Fire Short Film Competition
ardi-820 March 2011
As a judge of this year's Short Film Competition - part of the 13th Tongues on Fire London Asian Film Festival - I'm able to report that the judging panel were really impressed by this remarkable film which has also been well received in a number of other international film festivals.

In this short fantasy of a Norwegian Pakistani woman who escapes from the clutches of her family in order to avoid an arranged marriage, the director Iram Haq shows her mastery of combining live action and CGI animation - a take of Alice in Wonderland meets Little Red Riding Hood! Definitely one of the best short films I've seen in a very long time and we were delighted to include it in our Festival.
