Twenty-two million years ago a meteor collided with the asteroid Vesta creating the Rubria crater and launching a rock a bit larger than a meter in diameter into space. In 2018 that rock found it's way to earth. Fortunately it was detected before impact enabling astronomers to identify the impact location and collect fragments. Years of scientific sleuthing traced it back to Vesta.—David Foss
