We are now in season 7 of Curb, and the big talk about this season is the Seinfeld reunion. Well, this episode has nothing to do with the Seinfeld reunion, but this episode is definitely hilarious, and one of the best episodes of the series.
Larry begins dating a paraplegic woman, Denise, but he is unhappy with the relationship until he realizes the perks he gets dating her, and in turn he is invited to a concert with her, that he was previously de-invited to. Meanwhile Larry gets into a fight with Rosie O'Donnell over who pays the bill, and the news of Larry getting beat up gets out to Ted Dansen. Larry ends up losing Denise's number after Susie throws his Blackberry phone in the ocean, and he meets another handicapped woman Wendy, and assumes the perks from her. Chaos and hilarity ensues when Larry goes to the concert/party with Wendy.
This episode has so many classic scenes. The final scene at the private concert in the episode is just as uncomfortable and hilarious as any other scene from Curb. This episode constantly is on the border between uncomfortable (as most Curb is...it's a good thing), hilarious and silly, all of which are perfectly balanced to make this a really classic episode. And unlike the previous episode, "The Hot Towel", Larry isn't such a complete moron that everything is his fault.
Really this is one of Curb's best episodes, and what "The Doll" was to season 2, this will likely be the season 7...the season classic. But, hopefully this season turns out more episodes like this, because this was start to finish hilarious.
My rating: **** out of ****. 30 mins. TVMAL
