In Toony's Spectacular Summer Sporting Clash & Toony Tournament, the "Toon In" crew compete for Goldie Medals, which Goldie Fisher says are legal tender in Argentina and at participating Applebee's restaurants.
Featured recurring guests include MeTV cops Det. Abouttoretire and Det. Newtotheforce (who best Bill and Toony in a game of partners donut tossing), Toony's Estonian lookalike Tüüni ("Foreign Exchange Fish", who beats Toony in a quiz about . . . Toony), crayon-eating "Toonatrooper" Dippy (a "growing boy", who wins the chocolate-, pizza-, hotdog-, and chocolate-covered-hotdog-eating contests), and Svengoolie's rubber chicken sidekick Kerwyn ("Macabre Mascot", who defeats Toony in a swimming race).
At the time this episode first aired, Sport Chumpions (1941) had not yet been released by Warner Bros. on DVD or Blu-ray, though it had been included on public domain DVD compilations. The cartoon is presented in a newly restored print for this show.
