Watched FDFS at 2:30 am... Had very high hopes and the first half completely lived up to the expectations... AK is very stylish and charming... The whole heist has a mystery surrounding it in the first half and that's the major plus for the movie.. First half is Cold and Dark...

We get mixed feelings in second half . With messages revolving around how people get scammed, we can connect to an extent but the fact that these messages are coming from a robber is an irony.. These messages are still explained In a funny and entertainable way..

The climax fight in boats felt cliched like usual tamil films.. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and worth the Sick leave that I'm going to take today and sleep during the day...

I guess this is the first time we didn't see any notable theme for AK by Gibran in the movies he had worked with the star. Extremely disappointed with the BGM..

Yes, the stunts were fantabulous & cinematography was brilliant, but that alone not sufficient for entertainment.

Editing could have been better.. most hyped 360 degree shot was took few seconds to relaiseI, was kept in between the sequence..

Unwanted flashback. Especially Dharshan portion.

Still can't believe the fact that the same director who made this movie had taken Sathurangavettai, Theeran.

Overall the 1st is a visual treat for ak Fans

2nd Half could have been better..

If you don't go with much expectations, you will be reasonably satisfied as an ajith fan. This film was far better than vivegam and valimai . The movie which started as a typical bank loot has a deep story into it. I personally liked the 2nd half . Loved the twists here and there. Other than some action and mass scenes of ajith in the first half, there was nothing more to it. Manju warrier reminded me of Tokyo in money heist. Cinematography and bgm could have been better. The bank shown in the movie is a big bank that looks like RBI head office. I have never seen such a big nationalised or private bank. So director should have chose a decent sized bank. I will give 7/10 for this film.

The movie has a racy first half provided by content oriented at the second half and Ajith scenes are the core of the movie makes it a decent entertainer at the box office! Go for it u ll experience the rage of Thala and H Vinoth! Gibran's Bgm paves the way for the movie at important scenes, Chilla Chilla Song has that mass Ajith moments of scene, The bank detailing in the movie has some good work done behind the scenes by director H Vinoth, Manju Warrior has acted so well coping with her character and the portions were bucks and other's make the scenes comic with their screen presence, Overall a Paisa Vasool movie for Thala Ajith, Don't miss to watch in theatres.

Back bone of the movie was well written story and racy screenplay . First half was totally intriguing right from the movie started . H. Vinoth delivered a good social message in sensible way Gibran songs and bgm were good , well contributed to the movie . Ajith Kumar presence and his character great . Opening action sequence and post interval action sequence were well choreographed .

Cons - Making was bit average . Technical wise cinematography was okayish and below average editing . Second half had few lags , especially flashback sequence were speed breaker . Climax was totally over the top and clumsy .

Verdict - Overall except few flaws , a well written commercial action thriller with good social message to watch .

Vinoth Made this film On his Style,this Film has Good Message and All family must watch, The film's trailer set the tone for a commercial entertainer centered around a bank heist and fans were eager to see Ajith become an anti-hero once again after the much-celebrated Mankatha,Hope All family Audience watch and support our tamil film,No guts No glory.

Writer-Director H. Vinoth, once again, like Valimai, comes with a relatable story, but fails to develop an engaging screenplay, further letdown by clueless direction. First and second halves feel so unconnected, you wonder whether you're watching an anthology film.

Unlike Valimai, the core emotion here has got no connection to the protagonist, who himself is kinda bad boy. Desperate to convey a message, director oversimplifies the second half, completely unrelated to the first half, where everyone felt it's a heist film.

Ajith, as always, saves the day with his swag and style, but talents like Manju Warrier and Samuthrakani are wasted with minor roles.

Cinematography by Nirav Shah is okay, given the limitation due to plot setup, editing could have been better. Stunts by Supreme Sundar might pull the masses, but the climax episode is unreal and over the top. Ghibran's BGM is adequate.

So much was expected from Vinoth-Ajith, after a subpar outing with Valimai, but once again they settle for simplicity rather hitting it out of park.

Completely misunderstand as bank heist and it's only bank scam movie, Made only for heroism, Opening was not updated, Guns firing are clumsy, into the sets of bank It's just a revenge drama for a bank scam, Characters not developed well, Heros character changing itself not told clearly, Untouched flashback... Cliche story behind hero,.... Twist was given very much simple,.... Few bank scams only gud... For that we cannot see whole movie, Stunts are better in Bollywood compared with it's journer Logic less fighting... Camera angles of fight is gud Climax are comical, songs were not required for this type movie itself,,but bgm is gud somewhere,, As it made only for native fans of its hero.. Not for World movie lovers...

The movie made with unexpected events with clear script that were written well. The actor produced a very, very top-notch performance. In short, the movie made clear competitive to 'john wick' and 'bank job'.

And have a great journey on watching this film.

Also if you are thrilled to watch any robbery and action sequences film I will bet this film is for you. And also dont try to compare this film with other bank robbery films it has separate storyline that is largely different from what a conventional bank robbery stories would have. The movie contains advice that was necessary for both the youngsters and workers who were employing in banks.

Positives: 1. AJITH: Ajith sir's screen presence and his body language really hold the movie until the end.

2. Engaging first half and the interval block: Movie started off well and the gripping nature in first half never made us feel that there is any lack in logic despite some illogical sequences.

3. All actors did justice to their roles. Special mentions: Samuthirakani, Mohana Sundaram, Manju Warrier and Mahanathi Shankar.

4. Subject chosen by the movie and the message: Various scams involved in banking and stock market (can't reveal much as it becomes spoiler) researched well and must be known by everyone. The message given by this movie has been delivered well and special kudos to H Vinoth for executing the same.

5. Comical tone of thala Ajith throughout the film: The serious subject has been dealt comically throughout the movie in order to reach the audience commercially and succeeded in the effort.

6. Some twists and turns: I don't want to spoil your experience. Watch it and find it yourself.

Negatives: 1. Some portions in second half: As the second half deals with the motive for engaging in heist, motive felt little unconnected in my opinion. But still it's just my opinion, maybe it would be good for others.

3. RIP logic and physics: As I said earlier in positive, first half didn't feel illogical because of the engaging tone even though some scenes are illogical. Even though second half has some entertaining and informative sequences , many scenes are illogical. We sense such illogical scenes, as cinematic liberty have been taken and the limits have been crossed especially in the climax sequence.

4. VFX and editing issues. But not hampering the the screenplay of the movie.

Overall, a decent watch which must be watched by everyone for its message.

My rating: 6.5/10.

Another confused, unnecessary 1.5X speed like, Hollywood inspired average product from Ajith's campus. It's like a watching a series of incidents between some strangers that are no way connected to the movie watchers. Poor understanding of the finance and debt. Management world, over-used gun/ explosive acts, poor editing, a bgm without a soul, a music director without understanding the power of silence in bgm.

I guess Ajith need a well seasoned regional directors with lots of life experience. Even Lokesh kanagaraj cannot save this guy in his current state.

I am neither a fan nor a hater of AK but I felt like cheated after the movie. More importantly, this movie exposed H. Vinoth's lack of experience/ understanding of human emotions, interests of mass movie audiences, subject matter depth and cinematic language. Avoid or delay until ott if you can!

One of the worst and cringes movies i had ever seen.2nd half is filled with cringe scenes..Biggest failure for AK..Pongal disaster. Only plus in this movie is actor mohana sundaram scens..He nailed it with his acting.. otherwise this movie is a garbage. Background score are worthless..Feel like funny when iam heard the background score of thunivu.. thunivu already becomes disaster in Telugu and Kerala states..A big disappointment from director H. Vinoth after giving superb movies like Sathuranga vettai and Theeran,.... .. Valimai and Thunivu were worst Movie ...Save your money for next Ajith movie..

No offense, it was really a pretty below average movie. The first half was good with all the actions and the pace it was going and the second half i would say probably the worst. No logic and no acceptable scenes whatsoever. A really poor screenplay and a usual cringe commercial story. I think H. Vinoth needs a lot of work to do so, cant find a better film of his than sathuranga vettai till now. Really disappointed.some of the scenes are mind boggling while some are really good. Ajith performance was top notch he as his always , mass good dailogue delivery the look was way too good. Manju, samuthirakani and other casts did their role to perfect. Special kudos to mohanasundarams comedy which was amazing. I also liked the way the story it doesnot depend one character around just like other commercial movies usually do. Overall a pretty below average movie. Worst screenplay story and direction, no clearance. Pls do watch it in theaters.

A total treat for Ajith fans and neutral fans of commercial cinema.

AK has the charisma and swag nature of the character to a tee. Apart from a couple of choreo pieces in fights, most action scenes are just explosives, be it from guns or bigger guns.

Manju is a badass like AK , brought her coolness to the game. Comical characters sheds light on fraud journalism just as Vinoth goes on to unravel the dark side of banking. Sure certain moments of revealing "who's who" could have been served at a slower pace in the midst of the frantic heist tussle. A fun joy ride, mass cinema can be done right.

Thunivu- Well crafted heist thriller with a rooted plot that shakes the public and provides deep insights into what exactly the bank does for common society.

Ajith owns the complete movie with his swag, dance moves, dialogue delivery and fights. He up-levels the plot to the next level, and masks somehow the immature editing and few silly scenes.

Vinoth as the director has chosen the right script and educates the audience with awareness.

He exposes the real truth tactfully with twists and turns. Wish the screenplay was bit tight with crisp editing in the second half.

Thunivu strikes the right cord otherwise!

The movie begins as a heist film. The screenplay is fast and the film doesn't waste a lot of time setting up the premise. We are immediately thrown into the heist within the first 20 minutes of the movie.

Ajith's portrayal of the lead was superb. I personally felt he was charismatic and had a dominant presence on the screen. The film had a good build up, until the interval block and I was, to my surprise hooked onto the plot.

That being said, the second half turns out to be just another commercial movie with a social message , in this case the banks being the larger villains and looting people. I personally expected it to be an out and out heist movie but it turned out to be something else entirely. I personally wish it was just that. The music was surprisingly not enticing enough but nevertheless it added a little character to the movie.

The comic relief "mai pa", was fantastic and I wish he had gotten more screen time. Another thing I really appreciate is that the lead had no "Romance" to run after which, I usually find unnecessarily distracting. Not having that element just made the movie all the more enjoyable.

The film is a commercial entertainer and is worth watching in theatres with a crowd at least once.

Thunivu tries to be like Mankatha and fails miserably, music is not good and climax is the biggest drawback and illogical concepts related to bank fraud, credit cards etc. The hero ridden with bullet scenes, stabbed multiple times and still carry Manju warrier then gets hit by car, the car then explodes but the hero still survives, what more for all the killing the hero does he walks away free. The hero crossing the border using a small boat etc such scenes make the movie worse and beast movie was far better then thunivu, hope heros like ajith stick to scripts where they can be meaningful and enjoyed by family instead of mindless bullets, bombs exploding and make it cringe worthy to watch. Give it a miss guys its not worthy of your time.

The screenplay was very fast which is satisfying for the present Tamil audiance.thala presence was interesting and the twist was mostly unpredictable. Vinoth is not just another filmmaker he is a man who really has a concern on the people for who he makes films without just telling a fictional / non fictional story he tries to bring in a thing which each and everyone watching his film will have it in or around thier life and he tries to give us a microscopic view of the things we pass on and sends us out where we can never see the thing same as we saw before. Here he takes the banking/financial sector and slaps on the face without hidden layers or indirect attack he just points everysingle flaw of the sector with accuracte details. I am sure every bigshots will have thier roots shaken after the films impact.

To be Frank I am Vijay fan . Not going to say bad movie ya Over all good movie Frist half bas good not bad and 2 half was very key in view but I felt like watching KGF if you watch the movie you will understand wasting bullets like any thing.would have avoided many scenes in movie but ok On time watch able not going to criticize. I saw the content there the message was very clean the message they want to convery to ous was so clean to. Good content . Ajith Kumar acting was good only small part for heroine. Heroine was supporting role for hero. If you are Ajith fan can watch movie. Not a tall a family movie . It's a movie who love to watch action movie . A Lot of action inthe movie . At last 1 time watch able.

Waste of time and money. Beast movie is better than this movie. Climax is better to write. Climax is the main flaw of the movie.

Then the actual story begins. The movie is about how some banks are exploiting people in the name of credit cards and mutual funds. AK has nailed it. He has done a good one after a while. Manju Warrior was given a pivotal role. Good to see the Vijay stars crowd in the movie. Fast moving screenplay. The movie starts holding you only when the flashback begins. It's totally worth watching. No guts, no glory. The movie has just two songs. Pinning big hopes on H vinoth for his story telling. Looking forward to his movies. Boney kapoor probably got glued to AK. When red giant releases a movie, we can blindly walk into the theater and it will be worth it!

Its an all in all AK madness. His swag, his way of firing with the guns, his evil calculative smile , his anger, AK was being untied and gave the complete freedom by the director to do what he wants. That was the feeling post watching his performance.

1st half as director claimed its for Thala fan, I will say that its for all those who love mass & 1st half was awesome.

2nd half it was a mixture. As H. Vinoth in his Galatta Plus interview stated that he stress on giving information on a specific subject through his interview & that what we could see in 2nd half. The financial scams, the bank issues etc blended with the cinematic ingredients, movie throws out to be a watchable flick.

Overall Thunivu is a mass entertainer backed by a relevant message..
