- Russia has had its share of alleged sightings and secrets, and some think nuclear arms are to blame. But not all unidentified objects come from above.
- The US has always been a prime contender for a hidden UFO program. But other countries have also come in contact with UFOs and have covered it up, including China and the Soviets.
Both US and Soviet Russia were interested in each other's UFO programs. Raegan told Gorbachev many times that there was a need for US and the Soviet Union to collaborate in face of an alien threat. Raegan believed that some aliens were a real threat to humanity.
Even now, Russia is becoming more secretive, and its military power is growing. Putin is putting a lot of money into the Navy, developing of the Arctic and other territories. But there is no information coming from Russia about UFOs. In September 1977, Petrozavodsk, Karelia, USSR. There were sightings of 3 luminous, oval objects moving smoothly in a triangular formation and moved on after a few minutes. The next morning, a Jellyfish shaped UFO appeared above the same town. Pulsating, radial tentacles reached towards the ground. After a while, it disappeared beyond the horizon. Residents reported that their window frames had melted.
North Russia has had UFO sightings for centuries. Petrozavodsk incident prompted a meeting in Moscow, which led to creation of 2 new departments devoted to UFO research. One was controlled by the Soviet Military; the 2nd was called Sekta. This was a joint academic and military program. The Military was concerned about the safety of their nuclear silos and their nuclear submarines. Soviet military was shooting at UFOs and losing aircraft. The military tried to cover up the sightings by calling them part of the Soviet space program.
UFOlogists speculate that the Russian nuclear assets were of interest to the UFOs, since there were 2000 nuclear tests in the upper atmosphere between 19445 and 2000 and this was of interest to the aliens. The US military commanders frequently spoke of presence of UFOs at the time of testing of nuclear weapons. UFOs were also sighted during the launch of ballistic missiles carrying live warheads. Similar sightings were reported in Soviet Union connected to their nuclear assets.
On October 4th, 1982, at a nuclear missile base, Usovo, Ukraine, USSR. The base reports a massive UFO which visited at night and inspected all nuclear missile silos at the base. Suddenly, the missile silos became active and became readied for launch. The command could only come from Moscow, but Moscow knew nothing about this. For 15 seconds the base loses complete control of its nuclear arsenal. After those 15 seconds, everything returned to normal.
According to SEKTA documents, USSR witnessed substantial UFO activity in the 2nd half of the 1980's. Gorbachev had a policy to publicly disclose the existence of UFO research institutes. He removes the censorship. SEKTA launches a program where every military soldier had to report any witnessed UFO activity in great detail. They had detailed forms that had to be filled.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, many other stories came to light. UFOs were encountered by military pilots from Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. They even encountered the UFOs known as Tic Tac and encountered by the US in 2004 (The Nimitz incident). This incident in Soviet Union occurred in 1987, at the Vranov Dam in Cezchoslovakia. The military had responded with a MI-24 helicopter interception of an unknown object flying in from Austria. Pilots reported a cigar shaped object, 10-15 meters in lengths and moving in unpredictable ways. The pilots did not shoot at the object, since the Vranov dam below was full of people. The object disappeared in the direction of the nearest nuclear power plant.
The Eastern bloc countries had similar encounters several times. Jan 1986 to November 1987, Dalnegorsk, the far east region of Russia. An UFO hit a snow-capped mountain. There was no explosion, and only a resounding bang. The metal left behind had very unusual qualities. 8 days later, 2 more UFOs appeared over the crash site. On Nov 28th, 1987, the sky of Dalnegorsk was flooded with UFOs. The sizes varied greatly, and some craft were even 200 meters long. In addition to UFOs, USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects) were also spotted in our oceans. These USOs were encountered by both US Navies and the Soviet Navies. Some of the USOs were over 200 feet long and bullet shaped. Similar sightings were reported in South America. The Government of Brazil even released their data to a group of UFO researchers. In 1997, in Colares, Brazil's Amazon delta. Fishermen observe a UFO hovering over a beach. For many months, crafts of varying shape appear over the delta. The Brazilian military came in with a researcher named AJ Gaevard. The military managed to shoot four films and hundreds of photographs. They even made first contact. But then, the Brazilian air force stops all operations and leave the area suddenly.
Perhaps there was pressure from the US Government, which was evident from the 1996 Varghina incident. A UFO crashed, and number of people witnessed it, but it was later covered up due to pressure from the US Government (2 men in suits arrives before the denial and the cover up began).
China had a UFO organization with an approval from the Chinese Government. Have a UFO program dating back thousands of years. They have a rapidly expanding space program and have the world's largest radio telescope, the 500-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope. China now has technological capabilities that mirror the US and Russians. It is possible that at some point the countries share their knowledge on UFOs and USOs in a worldwide effort to develop a global monitoring system. It is also possible that the alien intelligence has made sure that every country has a piece of the puzzle and the technology, so that no country can calls the shots on everyone else.
