Not as bad as I was led to believe.

I almost didn't watch this because of the torrent of bad ratings, but I'm glad I did. The first episode has a pretty exciting shootout involving two Citadel agents and a small army of bad guys on a high-speed train which crashes and, apparently, causes to the male agent to lose his memory.

Flash forward 8 years and the agent is happily married but gets reactivated by his old boss.

Yes, I understand the criticisms: the plotting is weak, the dialogue is not the best and the technology is ridiculous; but it's really no worse than the later "Mission Impossible" films on any of those points. Just switch your brain to the "mindless entertainment" setting, sit back and enjoy.

Fix the Sound volume already !!

Warning: Spoilers
Ok, the sound mixing is horrifically bad. Something that Amazon shiws all seem to have in common. Whispering the dialogue and lowering your eardrums with soundtrack and special effects.

As for the show it's decent. Good enough to easily watch but nothing I'd watch twice in my life. It's just ok.

The 30 minute episodes feel lacking. Like it should be a 60 min. Because the episodes are failing to show you anything more than super long fight scenes and special effects. The plot is more of a couple lines of an itinerary. IE.." There is a case in Miami...followed by a fight scene. They need to go to New York...followed by fight scene"

Why am I frustrated? Because it's good enough to see it could be so much more. But falls to mediocrity.

Let's talk death. The show starts killing everyone. And they stay dead. But then go to this comic book explosion right next to the 2 stars and they survive. This mismatch of who dies and lives to tell the tale is sad. The spies kill aimlessly but then only knock out the main bad guy who is stalking them. Either make the sc new more realistic with realistic getaways. Or just stick to the comic book fights with no one dying all the way through. Because a show should have rules...so stick to them.

Another fine mess Stanley

Another strong episode here.

I am new to Amazon Prime so this is a pleasant surprise to see, much classier than the usual dramas BBC and ITV churn out. It has to be said.

The storyline is starting to unravel as the heroes reunite and theed is plenty of action and suspense for the viewer to enjoy but the story, as yet at least, doesn't seem that grand or original despite being the second most expensive show ever made. It would be good to have some humour here too.

I generally bingewatch series so being teased with the first two episodes and a few trailers is a bit of an irritant but I can see it is going to be well worth waiting to see what happens next.

Spies Appear in Night Time
Prismark1024 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Citadel must be set in the near future if memories can be remotely erased. That is the reason both Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh did not remember their past as spies.

Bernard Orlick tells Mason that his memories were saved on a vial of fluid. It can be injected back to him but his vial gets damaged and Bernard gets abducted by Manticore.

Not before Mason infiltrates Manticore Headquarters and takes the Citadel X Case. Unfortunately it has a tracking device.

The case leads Mason to Valencia where he meets up with Nadia who is working in a restaurant. He just needs to refresh her memories.

This was a well paced episode, not much lag, it moves on quickly, entertains and is peppered with fight sequences.

Just a shame that it cannot kill off its baddies. Everyone seems to live to fight another day.

Citadel Episode 2 Review.
scolaighe-17 October 2023
I thought this episode showed improvement over the debut. The agents seem a bit more human with some depth of feeling and motivation. The plot objective of the week was straightforward, the new Manticore baddy intriguing. The action was tight and well photographed, especially the restaurant fight. It's apparent that neither lead is a skilled actor-combatant but the shot interchange covered their shortcomings and created the illusion of continuous fight movement.

The prolific swearing is not to my personal taste, it's also a cheap and lazy shortcut for portraying forcefulness in a character. The show has a very competent cast, give them a higher level of dialog to deliver.

Episode 2
bobcobb3017 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The pacing was a little bit better in this one, but we still got the same goofy fighting that we loved from the first episode. I just don't know why they always let the bad guys survive. You don't want to have to murder people, but you know that this will come back to haunt you in the long run.

I think it is wise for this show to only be 6 episodes as they already feel light on story here, but it is not quite as poor as some critics are saying. It is a bit unimaginative, but so far it has the fast pace you want and I look forward to seeing what happens throughout the rest of the first season.

First episode was ok this one though, completely stupid.

Warning: Spoilers
The concept was interesting, but you lost me in this episode I'm done. While i like series like this.

However this series has rushed characters development. I have no intention of sitting through 4 and a half more episodes of this rubbish . I don't care about any of these people, because i know nothing about them. Which is understandable, as the main character lost his memory. However he has live a life of 8 years since then. We still know nothing of that life other than he has a kid and a wife. The whole memory uploading to servers is the dumbest stuff i have ever heard with today's technology it's impossible. If this was science fiction series set in the far future then maybe. If you watching it for action then it has some average scenes. Nothing exciting. If you're watching it for james madden then he is in I guess. There is nothing you haven't seen in this series, that hasn't been done alot better elsewhere.
