The belly button incident with the Dulainians is most likely a reference to Gene Roddenberry. In a comment from an interview that is more apocryphal than anything, he claimed that NBC censors wouldn't allow him to show a navel on an actress in an early episode of Star Trek. Later, when filming the pilot for Genesis II, he had Mariette Hartley fitted with a second prosthesis navel, giving her two belly buttons, to spite the earlier censor.
The title is a reference to the short story "The Most Dangerous Game", in which the main character gets trapped on an island with a big game hunter who decides to hunt other humans for sport. In this episode, Boimler is similarly hunted by K'Ranch, who is trapped on the Cerritos.
At the end, when the Martok program is asking the lower-deckers to purchase the expansion set, a bit of incidental music from Deep Space Nine is heard.
When Boimler is being hunted by K'ranch, several details are similar to Predator (1987) including K'ranch's species being master hunters, his reliance on numerous types of weapons, the music during the hunt is very similar to the music in Predator. When Boimler decides to fight back, he smears grease on his face similar to how Dutch covered himself with mud to fight.
Boimler's weight is established as 61.2 kg. This is equivalent to about 135 Lbs.
