Someone built an AI
milesrdavis27 February 2022
...and the first thing they did was make it binge watch Lost, The Walking Dead, and the last three seasons of Arrow. Then it made a tv show.

I want to like it. Going to keep trying. Try me again at the finale.

It Gets the Job Done
ahmadz83919 December 2022
The horror is put on hold while the family drama takes centre stage. Although this helps flesh out the characters, the family is the least engaging part of the show, so I would prefer if their story was kept to a minimum. Moreover, they built up tensions in this episode that could have been avoided with better communication, and I hope that the lack of communication among the characters isn't used to artificially fill in the runtime.

Boyd's kid and Fatima's overly friendly relationship with the colony house's new resident, Julie, is unsettling. There is something not quite right there, but we'll see. Let's hope that, this show doesn't start abusing flashbacks trying to imitate "Lost."

I didn't mind this episode, but I wish they'd return to the central mystery soon. Victor, Boyd, and Jade stand out as the most compelling characters and are the only ones who seem to move the story forward when they are on-screen.

Rating: 6.9/10 (It Gets the Job Done, Slightly Flawed)

The Episode Are Getting More Intriguing
gbarrett-3994127 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The concept is solid. Reminds me of the first season of Lost. The monsters give me Smoke Monster vibes. Streaming with Epix allows you to watch episodes early. I am enjoying this show so far.

[7.4] You'll never know where it falls!
cjonesas28 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 4: Nicer and more intriguing than the previous episode with its share of development, and I'm beginning to like the boy's artist "friend"; he's humble, a little crazy and knows much more than he shows. Liked the smiley stone scene very much and I think that has huge potential for the series.

Other than that, the father is a complete a.. and his relationship with his son is like the relationship of a can of bean with the beans. So weak and so protrudingly hooked. He won't get better I assure you, with his nervy bland character.

And the last scene was beautifully shot marking the contrast between the grunt blackish-brown and the green!

The show has so much potential if the writers don't mess it up.

Ignore the bogus reviews!
godsonw8828 February 2022
That one review that calls this a filler episode with no new details is bogus. It didn't have much action, but the story development was excellent with several pieces to the puzzle added to get you closer to understanding what's going on.

An Amazing 'Cross-Dresser'?
wandernn1-81-68327417 April 2023
'He was such an amazing cross dresser.' Oh dear. Well this episode continues a growing trend in the show that people do the dumbest things and do repeated dumb things in this show.

The teenager of course acting like a teenager as we learn that the Matthews family lost a kid recently. Thomas.

Boyd gets a sermon from the Priest as he repairs the 'box'. In the 'sermon' it is revealed that Boyd brought the talismans to the 'town'. And Boyd kept the town from having any deaths for 3 months. So why the 6 deaths in the last 3 days?

So where do the talismans come from? Why do they protect an enclosure from the deaders?

This ep. Slowed down the pace a bit for 'character development'. 6/10.

Finally Getting Somewhere. Somewhere Interesting.
jamericanbeauty14 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The town crazy is not so crazy. He has tragic decades-long ties to the town and could be the answer to freeing everyone from this town held hostage by an evil force. Hollow trees and a merry-go-round are possible portals to other dimensions. Interesting. Something evil writes death orders on the young waitress' skin and it's the right kind of creepy. The acting was solid across the board. I still can't stand Tabitha (or her whiny teen daughter). Why was Tabitha trying to make her Husband Jim cry or get emotional? Are men/husbands/ fathers allowed to be strong protectors in shows anymore? We see Jim nearly breakdown alone in a restroom fearing for the future of his family, especially his young son. But no, the show had to have him finally tell Tabitha he's scared or whatever, so she, the Wife, can tell him everything will be ok. Ugh!!! If not for that, this episode would have been a 9 easy.

alright
Lythas_853 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Boring story with nagging wife annoying our band of brothers guy and then talking in a condescending tone to the daughter, which totally pushes her away more..

now i get why the daughter wasnt much of a fan of the mother..

the boy and the older guy story is much more interesting lol.

Not to mention Boyd and the priest.. oh yeah that is how it is done.. little by little we get to find out why the sheriff is haunted and why him and his son are estranged..

no great developments in this episode. It just seems the daughter is going to have a three way with the sheriffs son and his gf.. otherwise, not sure why they are focusing so much on these 3 interacting..

Episode 4
bobcobb3012 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show has settled into its pace and tone and made it clear we will get a little bit of unraveling each and every week, but we are not going to get a whole lot of knowledge until the finale most likely.

It is fine to map things out that way and give us filler episodes like this, but you also have to ensure that the payoff down the road is good. There have been so many shows like this and they almost disappoint the audience in the end because they are unable to wrap things up and answer all the questions as well as provide a real and genuine reason for why this event and word has taken place.

Turning into the Walking Dead
If I wanted to watch endless conversations about nothing I would just turn on the View. This is turning out to be season 4+ of walking dead with nothing but pointless conversations. Hope the next episode is better.

A Rock and a Farway
Prismark106 November 2022
After the death of Frank. Sheriff Boyd Stevens is edgy and angry at Father Khatri. Everyone is jittery and Jim Matthews is still confused about what's going on and the family's predicament.

His anger is justified with local oddball Victor who is drawn to Jim's son Ethan.

Victor seems to have seen something in the forest as a child and thinks that Ethan can also see it. Both end up wandering through the forest but Victor is acting too creepy. Does he have Ethan's safety at heart?

Jade is another one who is having problems settling down. He thinks everything is one big gag and also upsetting others in the town in the process.

Being the fourth episode, it is time to explore a little more about the characters in the town and especially the forest.

Victor is both interesting and dangerous. Also just what is underneath Sheriff Steven's anger.

Filler episode
Xavier_Stone27 February 2022
Nothing much happens in this episode, all filler and creating more back story without saying too much. Dragging it out as long as possible without revealing a single important detail.

Really poor story telling in this episode.

Pointless and frustrating
Wilishem25 April 2023
After a very intriguing pilot in a matter of four (actually three but I was giving it a chance of a doubt) episodes this show turned into a flop. There is no character to connect to. I don't pity anyone in this show and don't really care whether they survive or not. They all make stupid actions and decisions, act unrealistic of people stuck in their situation. I don't 'believe' in the story nor the narrative and the show doesn't even try to make me do so.

I actually regret finding this show, and if not for my principle of always finishing what I've started watching, I'd drop it in a heartbeat.

Woke filler.
Harry_Cany0n15 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Nothing happened except some woke triggers. What are we doing? Is this just to say 'Hey we made series with more than 6 episodes! We rule!" Blah blah.
