- Uniformed Cop: I'm pretty sure we have a hostage situation in there.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Any of your officers try to make contact?
- Uniformed Cop: No, told my guys to maintain a hard perimeter and wait for the cavalry.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Thank you.
- Ed Lane: [on radio from apartment] We've checked. No sign of them, boss.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Okay, new deal. Jules, call it.
- Jules Callaghan: [to computer] 7:21 a.m.: armed abduction.
- Leah Kerns: [on radio] Greg?
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Yeah, Leah?
- Leah Kerns: What do you want me to do?
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Profile with, uh, Jules, Leah.
- Leah Kerns: Copy.
- Mike Scarlatti: [annoyed] Word to the wise: we call him "boss."
- Ed Lane: Where were you an hour ago?
- Jeff Stuckley: I was here. She's my girlfriend, man. What do you think I'm gonna do?
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Girlfriend? We heard Zoe broke up with you and you were taking it pretty hard.
- Jeff Stuckley: Screw you.
- Leah Kerns: [riding shotgun] There's the car.
- Ed Lane: We got a visual.
- Leah Kerns: You want to approach direct or cover from the truck?
- Ed Lane: What do you want to do?
- Leah Kerns: Hit it hard!
- Ed Lane: Copy that.
- Jules Callaghan: [on radio] Quick question, Sarge. If he thinks Zoe's his daughter...
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Don't contradict him but don't reinforce his delusion either.
- Jules Callaghan: Find common ground.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: That's right. Your job isn't to cure him, Jules. Your job is to just guide him out of this crisis.
- Jules Callaghan: I am sorry that Wendy disappeared from your life. I cannot even imagine what you have been through. But I do know what it is like to lose somebody, who had absolutely no business dying, and to not have a chance to say good-bye. And to be disgusted with people for just walking down the street like the world's the same place. That if you had just done something different... he still might be here.
- Leah Kerns: [searching the missing person's apartment] There's nothing here. Nothing to go on, no photos.
- Jules Callaghan: Actually, there is. No photos means no family. Isolated, maybe estranged.
- Leah Kerns: Right, that's why she's with the badass boyfriend.
- Jules Callaghan: Perceptive.
- Leah Kerns: Been there.
- Mike Scarlatti: [Walking through woods with parabolic microphone] Vehicle approaching.
- Ed Lane: [Over headset] Talk to me Spike.
- Mike Scarlatti: [Looking at GPS] South south west from you.
- Ed Lane: Is it our red Nebraska?
- Mike Scarlatti: Can't hear the make and color. It's definitely an old car.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: [in briefing room with Team One] Leah Kerns, first day. Welcome. We're gonna take it easy today. And, uh, I'm sure you remember everyone from the recruiting trials. So, I won't, uh, embarrass you with any speeches.
- Leah Kerns: Can I say something?
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: [looks at her for a moment] Floor's yours, yeah.
- Leah Kerns: [stands as Parker sits] Thank you for choosing me. I know why I'm here. You're down a guy and I'm replacing him. Don't hate me for it. Firefighting unit I served with, we lost one of ours, so, I know what that's like. If you want to talk about it...
- Jules Callaghan: We're good.
- Winnie Camden: [over P.A] Team One, suit up. Suit up. Shots fired.
- Ed Lane: [pounding table with fist] Let's go!
- Jules Callaghan: [annoyed, to Parker as she's standing up] Time and a place?
- Ed Lane: Boss, the insurance numbers match items stolen from a pawn shop early this morning.
- Jeff Stuckley: [chuckles] Must be a mistake.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: You interrupting my friend?
- [Jeff looks away and Parker turns back to Ed]
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Go ahead.
- Ed Lane: The alarm was tripped at 7:05. He's in the clear. He didn't take Zoe. The good news here, Jeff, is that we still get to arrest you for robbery.
- Jeff Stuckley: What? Can't prove I did it.
- Ed Lane: You were caught on the video surveillance camera. Officer Wordsworth.
- Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth: Be my pleasure.
- Jeff Stuckley: [being lifted to his feet] Look, when you find her, can you give her a message for me?
- Ed Lane: Nope. Keep walking, Jeff.
