Michael begins in north Devon under the shadow of England's highest sea cliff, the Great Hangman, and finishes up on the stunning three-mile golden sands of Woolacombe.
Michael is on the rugged north Cornwall coast, coinciding with a dramatic storm blowing in from the Atlantic. He begins at Widemouth Bay, takes shelter in an ancient woodland and spends the night at a vicarage where Thomas Hardy stayed.
On the South West Coast Path, Michael follows the western shore of Cornwall's biggest natural harbour Mount's Bay - a sweeping, 42-mile long, horseshoe-shaped shoreline. He begins at Cribba Head taking in the fishing village of Mousehole.
This edition of Michael's south west coast path adventure is his final stretch in Cornwall, and takes in a coastline of coves, sub-tropical garden and smugglers' creeks. Michael heads inland to visit a farm that makes ice cream.
This leg begins at Start Point, near South Devon's most southerly point, and marks the shortest leg on Michael's odyssey so far, at just ten miles long. He helps to erect a new wooden signpost for walks inscribed with his initials.
This final part of Michael's adventure begins on Hope's Nose, a unique headland outside Torquay on the English Riviera. He explores prehistoric caves by paddleboard, digs for red clay and races a historic Cornish rowing boat.
